...sadly Thame and Flackwell bow out of the FA Cup following home defeats in their replays tonight (Tue 7th) -
- Thame Utd were undone 2-4 by Margate at the ASM Stadium - trailed 0-3 at the break
- Flackwell Heath fell to a very late set piece 0-1 to W-S-M @ Wilkes Park but had been more or less hanging on for most of the match reportedly: attendance given as 267.

Highworth also eliminated in a 2-4 defeat at Shaftesbury.

There were replay wins for Chesham 2-1 v Uxbridge.... the 'Generals' now travel to Chertsey in 2Q .... and Beaconsfield who romped though 5-2 at Walton & H. & now host the 'Hawks' (Havant & W) in the next round on their shiny new 3G surface.....

...decided not to risk cross-town traffic tonight and trundled slowly down to Krooner Park (Camberley) for a very niggly/feisty encounter in CCL-1 between the 'lodgers' Bagshot and pace setters Wallingford.
Comfortable 0-4 win for the visitors but there were three red cards and lot of unsavoury challenges flying about.

Elsewhere in the League matches played:
Windsor shared 6 goals with Burnham at Stag Meadow in CCL-PN;
Fleet Town edged out Sheerwater 2-1 at Calthorpe Park in the Southern section
Holmer Gn recovered from their w/e mauling to grab three points at home to Harefield in a 2-0 win
Woodley lost to fellow strugglers Cove 1-2 @ Scours/Rivermoor
Alton's good start came to an end, beaten 0-2 at Anstey Pk by AFC Portchester

.... and the game I'd initially had as my Plan A, ended in severe disappointment for Abingdon Utd thumped 0-3 at Northcourt by Bourton Rovers.

Four Of Clubs Sun 12th 15:00 Dulwich Hamlet v Hungerford Town -though the Beeb are now showing this as Postponed - nothing to support this yet on either clubs' twitterscapes nor the League site??

According to Dulwich’s site the game is on. Confusion arising may be that the game was originally scheduled for 11th September but was postponed and put back to the Sunday date to allow the Hungerford player with Covid to see out his “isolation”.

Think they declared 914 as the "paid attendance" but it was far more in there if only for the fact they had all their academy teams in with parents being paraded at the start of the match. Terrific atmosphere.

...was fairly certain your original estimate was perfectly correct hence the 8) -- there might be a licensing issue with capacity @ Winklebury and the Hants FA - hence the official figure being announced as under the 1k.

Only my surmise though - I know other County FA grounds may have have regulations for crowd sizes even for County Finals - hence why they often tend to hold these at standard club venues rather than their own HQ.
- I think I recall Almondsbury Town (as was - RIP) got into grief regularly at the Gloucs HQ ground off the M5 (Oaklands Pk) when they got up as far as STEP04 and eventually got turfed out. One reason being they were never assured of a lease of more than one year and then when they rejected the agreement, the FA stopped them moving in with Clevedon Town a few junctions down ...
...... unlikely to happen in the near future with Roman Glass as the 'lodgers'.

Sadly I think 'Almonds' actually owned the ground first and agreed to let the County FA 'take them over' to bale them out ..... so rather ironic they got the boot!

Went there once for a visit of Truro, when they were shooting up the Pyramid.... and it coped perfectly OK with a sizeable gathering.

Brackley had a man sent off after about 15 minutes so hopefully that result is just a blip and they get back to winning ways

Sutekh
NathStPaul Bracknell looking very strong this season, will take quite a lot to stop them based upon what I have seen.

Tell that to Burgess Hill

What does that have to do with the league? They want promotion, nothing more.

Same league and played them in the FA Cup

It is an indication of how the game will go

Up the Hillians!

Well....you used to have Jerry Williams back in the W&E days...why not?

His fitness levels are still up to your level....one would think.

Not forgetting Martin Williams and Paul Holsgrove (the latter before my time at Stag Meadow).

I get the impression Harper is like an Eveready Bunny so I suspect his fitness levels would shame most of our squad.

He's done the local rounds, he just loves playing.

Bit of a coup methinks

(yes of course, PH....mega goalscorer back in his day)
