Special season winning 2 cups that teams barely bother about until the QFs. And both on penalties

Sorry you can’t celebrate ‘almost’. Or you shouldn’t imo

I don't get all the fuss or any need to justify a bus ride.
They and the people of Liverpool obviously thought that the team had done rather well this season so why not do what they have done?

Perhaps other clubs could look at the connect of the club of team and manager with the local community and learn from it.

Obvs I'm gonna mock the club/fans but I've got to agree with you. Saw a load of pics on Twitter of a LOT of people enjoying themselves

Kinda hard to get too salty about that!

Unless you’re a United fan

Maybe it was more about a fantastic season when they were fighting on 4 different fronts, won 2 of them and came runners-up in the other 2.
That in total IMHO makes it quite a special season.

Fair enough. Probably reason enough. Certainly agree about the connect they have with their fans is something to be admired

Klopp needs a serious re-think before it’s too late

Don’t want to point the finger of blame onto one/two individuals as the whole team is really under performing but I don’t see the persistence in using Milner - he just isn’t cut out for it anymore. Gomez had the makings of a very good defender at one point but his injuries have been a huge detriment to his progress

That’s now 1 game in the last 14 where Liverpool have scored the first goal in the game. Simply not good enough

Squad with a general lack of depth and key players out of form. Salah, TAA, in particular. Missing Mane too

It’s the midfield as far as I can tell #noexperto

Where they used to dominate games they’re now being overrun

The depth is there, but like any squad, it disappears when you have seven or eight players out injured.

But there's a real problem at the club. I'd add Van Dijk right at the top of that list of players out of form. He looks slow, sloppy and distracted. That new contract for Salah looking like a poor investment for now.

Alisson, Elliott and Carvalho probably the only bright spots so far.

Four of the next five at home (Wolves, Ajax, Brighton, Rangers), with Chelsea away. Not an easy run.

Sorry, what ?
Not an easy run … who would they prefer ? Arsenal ?
Even at 80% Liverpool would expect to be knocking all of those over
Trouble is, they’re not hitting 50% atm

Wolves is always a fight, Ajax in great form, so to Brighton, and no-one ever wants to go to Chelsea.

Of course in 'normal times', they'd expect to win those, they were one of the best teams in the world.

That second one is awful. Freeze it at four seconds, one pass takes out four players.

All well and good, but the culprit for the second one is Gomes not TAA (and that from someone who thinks that TAA is not fit to defend in an Under 9’s game)

Could understand it just if it was the last 5 minutes - but that is the first half. Some fundamental problems going on.

Injuries have really ruined Joe Gomez. He had a run of half a season in Southgate's team and looked like an England central defender for the next decade. Konate's injury is a big miss for Liverpool at the moment.

Currently very reminiscent of Klopp's last year at Dortmund. A team he had taken to the heights, simply ran out of steam, they had a poor start and whilst they recovered to reach the cup final, they finished 7th in the league.

Seventh season syndrome

Relegated with Mainz in his first managerial stint in his 7th season, finished 7th with Dortmund in his 7th season there and obviously a disappointing start to this one

Quite impressive mind that he’s been managing for over 20 years and he’s still only on his 3rd job, whilst pretty much managing through the entire period

Konate is key to Liverpool's future. Matip, is still, a very good player. Vastly underrated IMO, and still their best player at bringing the ball out of the centre of defence. Diaz has started the season pretty well too TBH.

The classic modern day Liverpool line up of Alisson, TAA, Robertson, VVD, Matip, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldem, Salah, Mane & Firmino has never actually happened in the PL

Time and time again, Liverpool have conceded the first goal in a game ranging from the back end of last season to the start of this season - and yet they persist with this ridiculously risky high line

It just isn’t working and Klopp will find himself out of a job if he doesn’t fix it pronto

Aside from a 20/30 minute spell in the first half, they were really poor, lost it passing out from the back time and time again and the times they went more direct, Nunez was offside
