terrier58 The only thing that is deluded is you. Let's get the facts straight for starters... Not sure how any message board can manage 43 pages on another clubs player on the whispers of twitter accounts. We as a club have a very wealthy chairman/ owner who does not have to sell unless he decides he wants to.
Jordan Rhodes does not want to leave huddersfield and will only talk to other clubs if he is told they are willing to let him go.
Yes he has ambition to play at a higher level, but he knows he has time on his side and is quite happy to give one season with us in the championship and see how we go.
The simple facts in football are players are moving all the time at inflated prices, that is the nature of the beast and created by the premiership gravy train.
Time will tell if your club do decide to try our clubs resolve, he is our player and as such we can demand whatever price we like as he is the hottest property outside the prem and as we say up here,,,,,"when he plays he scores.".
I hope you all enjoy your place this season back in the big time, but hopefully without our top goal machine......

The most true thing I've read on this thread. However money talks. If Reading offer 25k and say for example at Huddersfield he is on 8k a week, where would you go? Even as a Huddersfield fan, I'm sure you'd go. Likewise with me, if I was a Reading player on 25k, and got offered 80k by Manchester United, even though I hate them and there plastic fans, I would be set for life. Off I'd go, thinking one day I might return

Dont think my thread made that much sense... in a nutshell. A transfer is more about the contract a player signs than the transfer fee. If they dont like the contract, they wont sign, be it £5 or £50Million in a transfer fee.

But you can't have that conversation with a player until the clubs agree a fee

DOYLERSAROYALER Some guy on Twitter posted this

Juventus bid £8 million for Van Persie. Huddersfield have an asking price of £8 million for Jordan Rhodes. Sums up how stupid that bid is.

..also sums up how deluded the Huddersfield chairman is with valuations....and accepted that RVP is in final year of contract but a proven quality premiership striker being equal in value a proven quality Div 1 striker ...

...reminds me a bit of when Mad valued Long at £10m .....

.

£8M for Van Persie is an insult (I agree with your point though). £8M for a league 1 striker is mad (even the £7M that Southampton paid for Rodriguez is crazy

(Not usually one for comments like this but this time I felt compelled!) RatLOLed enough to sign up to our message board and have a mini rant

Must be feeling like it's a genuine possibility that Rhodes will be off to us. In all seriousness mate we have had one or two of our best players pinched off of us over the last few years, it's horrible when it happens, but you learn to get over it and it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. All the best for next year (with or without Rhodes  )

For all the bluster of that Yorkie Bar who just came on, the fact remains that if the Rhodes deal does not go ahead we'll very likely have Morrison back before he is either sold or loaned out (to someone other than Huddersfield) or incorporated into our squad, at least until January.

By all accounts Morrison was integral to Huddersfield's success last season, and probably would be similarly important to them in the championship.

I actually think the £2-million plus Morrison is a fair offer, it is what he should be sold for given the circumstances, and in a fair and proper world.

But it is not fair and proper and the reality is that he will probably go for more than that, then fingers crossed that a League One striker can perform at the higher level.

It's a risk perhaps worth taking at £3-million plus Morrison but definitely no more than that imho.

Agreed, I really rate Morrison, and people were raving about him long before he came to us. He's been unlucky in that he was 3rd choice centre-back behind a partnership which played every game together from the day they were formed.
He's still only 21, that's really young for a centre-back. Remember Alex Pearce two years ago? Look how far he's come on since then.

If Morro was to leave with Rhodes coming here I wouldn't mind much as long as we aren't paying a lot, but I just think that because we've hardly seen him play, people on here shouldn't be writing him off at such a young age

I find it difficult to accept that Jordan Rhodes (formally) of League One is the hottest prospect outside the Premier League. There are some quality players in the Championship. Snodgrass, Zaha, Deeney, Redman, Davies, McGugan etc etc

And it doesn't matter how well off a club is and how happy the player is, they all have their price. You can stick a silly figure on it if you want, but when it comes down to it, if he goes, he'll go for a shit load less than £8 million.

Are you having a laugh or what, give your head a shake man because your comparisons for talent in your eyes supposed to be better than Rhodes is a joke.
Snodgrass=13 goals, Zaha=9 goals, McGugan=13 goals, RHODES 42 CLUBGOALS, 8 SCOTLAND U21GOALS, but what should I care what you think because he won't be joining you lot anyway..byyyyye. :P :P :P :P
