I will be very surprised if Gylfi will sign if he is unsure of whether Rodgers is staying or not.

His problems at Hoffenheim started with a change of manager so if I were him I would be concerned. If he does sign I would assume that he is confident that Rodgers is staying.

This. £7m must be the vast majority of Swansea's transfer budget. I'd have thought that if Rodgers does leave their chairman will cancel the Gylfi deal in order to give their new manager a bigger transfer budget rather than leave them with next to no money to spend because it was all spent on Gylfi.

The BBC's Midlands Football Reporter Pat Murphy reports Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager in the next 48 hours. The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation now.

Why would Rodgers bother trying to get Gylfi to sign for Swansea, if he had every intention of leaving if Liverpool came in for him? Surely he's not now going to stick it up Swans even more by taking gylfi with him? Maybe he said he'd only go to Liverpool if they'd sign Gylfi though. Who knows. Come on gylfi - come back home.
