Could De Zerbi be an alternative shout if Alonso doesn't come off for whatever reason?

I think there will be other candidates ahead of him to be honest, I can't see him being one too high on the list to replace Klopp. I haven't been all that impressed by Brighton this season either. Maybe slightly harsh given it's their first season in Europe and everything else I just think they've been a bit underwhelming in the league.

I wonder if they'll look at Simeone at Atletico Madrid. He is a bit Klopp-esque in his approach in terms of a them and us philosophy and he is vastly experienced when it comes to terms a long term project. I think he is extremely secure at Atletico so it would be a tough ask to get him but he'd be my number 1 target if I were the Liverpool owner.

Yeah I've always thought Simeone for a job like Liverpool, although I think there is a lot of attachment to the Atletico job as well (is/was he the highest paid manager in Europe at one stage?). I think he's very much honoured at AM and it might be tough to move him from there.
