Sutekh
Four Of Clubs
- technically, under FA (largely un-enforced) regs their name is probably deemed 'non-compliant.'

Sorry, have I got it right, there is an FA regulation that says essentially club names should be representative of the area in which they play? If there is then it’ll create havoc if it’s ever enforced as loads of clubs will have to change names eg. Port Vale, QPR, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, West Ham…

....not sure 'regulation' is quite the right term and I did say 'un-enforced.' I think it was first being introduced or re-applied a few decades back and is definitely not intended to be retrospective in it's scope .... so no pre-existing club within or more obviously above, the NL Pyramid needed to comply.

Besides the examples above, whilst admittedly not precise, do at least refer to certain historical areas/locations where clubs originate from.
Didn't Grimsby move their permanent home to Cleethorpes at the end of the 19th C?

Indeed Arsenal actually dropped the 'Woolwich' when they moved north of the river - much to my dear old grandad's displeasure!

I believe it is more for latter day movements into and out of (and by the looks of it) within the governance of Leagues above County Level and hence just the top 6 STEPS of NL.

Where I am aware this has been - none too strictly - applied, it has been to fairly recent additions to STEP06 or below where the County Associations deem it applicable. It evidently takes a few years to grind into life - see prevalence of recent additions to CCL following the last restructure, and is for club names that don't immediately identify a particular area a club is based.

Usually a club will just add a place name in brackets to get by the stipulation e.g. the 'other' Met Police re-badged themselves Met Police (Bushey) thereby complying and at the same time avoiding any future confusion with the 'big boys' at Imber Court. :D

Just a little scrap here…Leroy Lita moves on from Nuneaton Borough to Stratford Town….one of the few Coppell Babes still out there playing.

No clue
Sandhurst Memorial Park is notorious for having its games called off week after week because of poor drainage and it use to be the case at Bottom Meadow but with the summer work on the pitch I wouldn't have thought it would have had anything to do with water

Went to York Road for the first time last night to watch Maidenhead beat Chesterfield 3-2. Really good game of football, Maidenhead were very impressive and didn't look like a side fighting relegation. Josh Kelly is a really good little player, think Maidenhead will do well to keep hold of him.

Lovely old ground too, well worth a visit if you haven't been already. They are right on my doorstep so will definitely visit again soon.

Absolutely brilliant idea/gesture by Flackwell, hopefully a good amount was raised too.

I see Marlow lost at Northwood which a bit of a surprise, they host leaders Bracknell in the next game and Bracknell will no doubt be looking to avenge their only league defeat so far. Possibly the biggest game in the area next weekend.

Royals and Racers Guernsey 4 Basingstoke 4 yesterday

att 773 - ..two for Conor Lynch and two for the mercurial Stefan Brown - 'Dragons' twice led by 2

- with the score @ 2-4 late on, Ros Allen got his 11th of the season on 77' and Le Tissier came on as sub on 84' to level 2' later and lift Guernsey off the bottom.
(that's Glenn by the way possibly related to the chairman & Matt Le Frog's brother - Mark)
