Four Of Clubs
Warfield Royal Ascot United v Wembley, FA Cup Extra Prelim, Friday 19/08/2011, 7:45 KO

This match has been moved forward to the Friday evening, 7:45 KO and will be the official "first kick" match in the FA Cup competition this season.

... so are the other 7 ties, also scheduled to be played on Friday up and down the country, being ordered to wait until 7:46 PM before kicking off then?

Sorry not doubting the source just wondered ......

Give us a break, this is a great honour for Ascot United and a lot of work is needed to make it happen. Anyway those other matches will not be official "first kicks". Credit to Wembley FC for their outstanding cooperation. (OK, I do appreciate the wink).

Come down to the Racecourse Tuesday night for our AUFC v AUFC match and see yourself on Sky Sports.

... as you could see I wasn't taking the p!$$ honest.

The 'Yellamen' have come a long way in a very short time and deserve a spell in the limelight. I recall Wantage got the honour of starting the FA Cup off, three or four seasons back - included a 'live' stream on itv.com I think - remember they'd put up a big bouncy castle down nr one corner which somewhat detracted from the action on screen. :|

Your match vs Ardley is on my radar for Tue but I'm unlikely to visit the delights of the 'Car Park No 10 Stadium' :P twice in one week - or are you officially known as 'The Racecourse' now?

Vaguely recall I saw the same fixture early last season (mid-Sept) - before anyone realised that Ardley were going to be 'front-runners' for much of the campaign - think they pinched a 3-2 win and actually stopped YOU from going back top?

There's quite a full program of matches on round here that night but I'll decide nearer the time.

Good chance I'll pop along Friday though - if I'm allowed out. :?

Tony Le Mesmer Dont make me laugh!

Pacquette, Williams, Hendry = top half finish. Bet you a portion of chips with curry sauce.

ON. Pacquette only their for pre season training i believe, Hendry will be lame before the season starts and will make about 8 starts all season. Williams is just another one of them from West London. Be prepared for a LONG season.

Maidenhead Utd 0-4 Tonbridge Angels.

Might as well pay up now floyders

Four Of Clubs 'Car Park No 10 Stadium' :P twice in one week - or are you officially known as 'The Racecourse' now?

Ascot United Racecourse Ground

The Car Park 10 reference causes too much confusion. Yes it is car park 10 but the entrance is signposted 7/8 from the road and the reality is that Car Parks 7 & 8 are "inside" the Racecourse and accessible through the underpass.

I think there are plans for a bouncy castle farm for Friday (but not too near the pitch)

and Abingdon Town 0 - 2 Ascot United was a good season opener

Entertaining - pretty full-blooded contest - nice big clubhouse and journey home much in good humour since we'd whumped Sven's lads. :D

Missed a classic photo opportunity too - some nice local 'girlies' unwittingly leaning against an advertising hoarding which proclaimed in large letters: "TOOLSTATION".

Windsor fought back from 2-0 down at half time with 2 Ryan O'Toole goals. Not bad considering that Epsom & Ewell had won their first tow games. Very strange officiating from the referee who made a poor game worse. Nice ground though even if it took me an hour to get across the Dartford Crossing.

Tonight, Windsor host MNF with a home game against Camberley Town. Kick off 7.45, see you there 8)

Truro should go well in BSS, i won a nice sum on them last year at 12/1 to win the southern league. They were big odds against to win at Chelmsford, i can only presume no one at the bookies has bothered to look at Truro's squad list which wouldn't be out of place in BSP at worst.

Didcot will be terrible, only Jamie Heapy whose played about 1000 games for Didcot is left from last season, a bunch of kids + Simieon Howell (remember him?) and Craig Faulconbridge (Ex Wycome, Wrexham) are there. No chance.

Salisbury v Furrock for me on Saturday, very good first half with plenty of football, 2nd half a bit more fractious. 1-1 fair - bearing in mind Thurrock could call on good experience for the level in David Partridge, Paul Terry and Rocky Baptiste, Salisbury held their own well. 12 very good-natured and noisy away fans kept things amusing.

So good old Brommers have only gone and re-employed Mr Goldberg AGAIN as manager.

Held Chelsea reserves 2-2 and as pointed out won away at Hampton 2-1. After last seasons mental form (top of the league form 1st half - relegation form 2nd) a bit of stability might be a good idea.

Yup pondering this one amongst the 4 possibles tonight (Burnham & Beaconsfield also @ home a Step higher - doubt if they'll draw the same crowd though) Milton nr. Didcot H v Lambourn tonight in Hellenic One East but seem to be the only option for next Mon 22nd. so may avoid that one.

Maybe a silly question TB but why Dartford Xing - was the M25 totally f£cked or were you approaching Merstham from somewhere other than 'Ding - was sure you was a local 'lad'. :?

... Cd be a good contest tonight Cambo back to winning ways @ w/e 3-1 vs RPV - and will not want to slip up again this early in the campaign - Guildford still 100% at the top but go to Cove tomorrow evening in the first of five away games on the trot - not sure whythat is; looked maybe as if the Spectrum had a bit of building work underway last week when I was there?
Could certainly do with a bit more on the 'social' side.

Not much chit chat on the CCL forum.......

I went there too, although I found the game a little disappointing to be honest. It could probably have done with Salisbury scoring their first half penalty to open the game up a bit.

I spent much of the game wondering if the little motorised hang-glider would come crashing onto the pitch at some point.

Not idea why Thurrock thought yellow and green stripes clashed with Salisbury's all white home kit.

Windsor's game tonight abandoned after half an hour due to floodlight failure.

Disaster for the new club and inexcusable in my book. Highly pissed off right now.

I'm sure the betting patterns will be closely scrutinised....

(Windsor were 1-0 up at the time.)

Hmmmm indeed some chap in the bar was bemoaning the fact that he hadn't lumped on a floodlight failure @ 12-1 :?

.... 'bout time they sorted out their draught beers too - price of bottled beer is criminal especially if there is no alternative - other than abstinence.

Was there truth in the rumour that the re-match will be free entry?

Ascot United v Ardley United is Tuesday night and Sky Sports News will be filming a piece on Ascot United but it's not clear if any football will be fimed for TV.
