BraisingsteakRoyal Off to the Silverlake for Eastleigh vs Southend Utd tonight.

There's been a bit of an exodus over the last couple of weeks - first the manager and then maybe 4/5 of the younger/better players have been picked up by lower league sides - with loanees being brought in to replace them til the end of the season.

Either the club has just written the season off, or there is some deeper financial concern and its a fire sale.

Good game last night - finished 1-1 between two sides who wanted to play football and get forward. Honestly, the quality is not actually that far off watching Reading these last couple of years.

Attendance was over 3k apparently - including maybe 800-100 travelling Southend fans - both sets of supporters making plenty of noise for 90 mins.

Eastleigh had a couple of real quality full backs - Brennan Camp (RB) who joined on loan last week from Bournemouth - who got forward well - and got an assist for the Eastleigh goal after 6 mins with a good run and decent delivery. Strong in the tackle too. Played the second half as a CB after Andrew Boyce was booked and taken off as a precaution.

They then brought on LB Vince Harper - who looks far too good for this level - quick, beats players and gets the ball in early.

Thanks for the update - where do you park when you go to the Silverlake?

Strange goings on down there. Either a clear out, reset, or money is an issue. Love to see Flitney get the gig down there but he has said its come 1 year to early for him and Bristow does not want it either... all a bit odd.

Yeah - full disclosure - i've only lived in Chandlers Ford for a year - so i'm a total plastic. I parked on a housing estate in Stoneham, next to a "No parking on matchdays" sign. Car parking was carnage to be honest - the main CP is for season ticket holders only, the Concorde club is the preferred parking (but was full and tailed back across the roundabout...). There must be better places within a 10 minute walk. I'll work it out.

Definitely seems like something going on behind the scenes - and they are putting off some financial decisions/commitment til the end of the season - making some short term / low risk decisions.

I was in Stoneham yesterday for a tournament (Hampshire FA) but assume that car park is closed on match days.

Shrivenham
3-4 Hereford Lads Club
HELL-1
Abingdon United 1-3 Newent Town
Milton United 0-0 Stonehouse Town

Studley 2-0 Shortwood United
- got to this in plenty of time – nice free-flowing M40/M42 – one junction west, then down the eastern edge of Redditch on the A435
- Studley have new build sports centre with two full-size all-weather pitches behind a plush club house. Attendance was officially only 33 but my head-count put it nearer 60-70 - probably lots of kids in free.
- game itself was rather sterile : visitors were stubborn in defence but fairly punchless going forward – Studley had just enough to unlock them and remain top of this division. Clanfield ‘85, recently joining in the title race, were thrashed 7-0 at Hereford Pegasus and drop to 3rd.

SSM-P
Arlesey Town 0-3 Risborough Rangers - turning into a 2 horse race in this division, with a gap opening up back to Leighton in 3rd - Rangers have 3 games in hand on leaders New Salamis, who were not in action today, - their lead cut to 2 points.
Hadley 3-1 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos
Oxhey Jets 0-4 Flackwell Heath
SSM-1
Ampthill Town 2-1 Kidlington Reserves
Bedford 4-1 Long Crendon
Shefford Town & Campton 3-2 Penn & Tylers Green
Wellingborough Whitworth 2-2 Amersham Town

WESS-P
AFC Stoneham 2-1 Alton
Bournemouth 1-1 Alresford Town
- Match between Blackfield & Langley and Christcurch Abandoned – no comment being made by either club – ‘leaving it to the ref’s report’ and the Wessex League.
- Hosts were leading 3-0 when a 'double-red' was shown (presumably one to each side) but home club also made a statement that day - not clear if before or after the match - announcing management departures with immediate effect?
- Poster on NLM states a spectator ran on and assaulted a visiting player - not the first time in this division this term either - happened at Fareham recently. :?

WESS-1
Andover New Street {SEVEN} 7-1 Verwood Town att 209
Andover Town 5-0 Millbrook
Folland Sports {EIGHT} 8-1 Ash United
Petersfield Town
1-2 Romsey Town

Four Of Clubs Basingstoke Town 0-1 Bracknell Town – Bowerman again on target around 63 mins – crowd was 802

Think that result means Bracknell now need 11 points from their remaining 9 games to be sure of the title and promotion to the Isthmian Premier.

Do you watch the Youtube Documentary called "Dorking Uncovered"?

I have been lately, new ones released every week. REALLY good and interesting to see how they have gone from nothing to almost National League in a short time. The manager/owner/founder does seem a massive cockney twat but begin to really warm to him.

Do you think Bracknell could go like that, and move up?

Off to Beaconsfield tomorrow to watch the B & B QF tie against Milton Keynes Dons- not been to Beaconsfield since they put the 3g pitch in in the summer. Should be a decent crowd.

How so? Doesn’t come across anything different on video to any other manager tbh, but that probably is because its cut out.

He is bad enough on camera, sarcastic, thinking he is funny, belittling remarks, off camera and in the tunnels, he is toxic.

Bracknell do have issues with not having their own ground. Going up too fast could be a huge financial strain, and if the owner had to pull out (as rich backers tend to do after a few years in non-league) before they are back in Bracknell, the club would be screwed.

The ground at Sandhurst, while tidy, is still pretty basic. I would imagine they'd need to do more work to go up again.
