Here we go again! Back to square one.

The new manager will come in and do better for the first year and then shit the bed...after spunking £500M on players we then need to shift

It was naive to go into the season without any goal scorers. We were relying on players who have never shown the ability to be able to score 20+ goals a season (bar Rashford)

Looks like it's gonna be Sporting's manager, Ruben Amorim.

He's basically what ETH was three years ago but without as good a record

Fully expect things to get better for a year or two and then turn to shit.

Might be different under Ineos, we'll see

It's baffling to see such a giant club just churn through these managers whilst simultaneously have absolutely zero character or on-field culture. As well as the fact their squad just isn't very good. Comparing it to the others at the top of the league and it just looks dull, uninspiring and nowhere near as good.

Rashford epitomises everything wrong with the team. Dead wood, who is not of the quality they need, often appears disinterested or just not on form.

A huge core of that team just needs to be moved on. The club itself has no identity anymore. From top-down, just seems to have lost its way.

Amorim is known as a bit of a hothead and loves a sideline bustup, so some extra drama to come for us onlookers maybe.

Sanguine and I were discussing him 3 years back. Another reason you should subscribe and pay to access the European Football thread - https://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=78643&p=5110349&hilit=amorim#p5110349

Haven’t they already moved on a lot of players though, really should get someone in who doesn’t just throw everything out but takes a bit of time to judge what is there and whether they can work with it and not just bring in another 10 players on top of it all. ETH didn’t even get the chance to play some of the new guys due to their injuries so has been bedevilled with bad luck as much as his poor decisions. Perhaps they should have let him continue for the rest of the season to see if things would pick up rather than axing him after Sunday’s reveal of the ****** abysmal state of officiating in the PL.

I've heard that new subscribers are put off by the multiple off topic posts. They're left confused amd angry by discussions of South American football, for example, in a European Leagues thread.

Perhaps we could rename it to "Other leagues" thread?

"Not the Premier League"?

"Europe and ROTW"?

Just spitballing here.

I would be disappointed to lose the season year in the thread name, I feel it adds some HNA heritage to it. in fact it was called the 'European Football Thread 06/07' and some chump updated it years ago, annoyingly. a 17 year old thread needs to get the respect it deserves.

'ROTW Football Thread - 06/07 and onwards'

i mean i can change it back to the 'European Football Thread 06/07' and someone can start a ROW thread

you tell me what you want and will do it

How about "European (and ROTW) League Thread - 06/07 onwards" that way it keeps the brand recognition that it's built up over the last few years, but is also inclusive of the off topic posts that seem to confuse and anger so many posters.

in the spirit of helping bring waring factions to peace, I agree. a renamed thread 'European (& ROTW) League Thread - 06/07 onwards'

Do me and Pepe now have to meet across some kind of DMZ divide and be photographed shaking hands?

Madness. Genuinely a little shocked at that.

7 really good seasons, getting them from Div 4 up to to the Championship and being a penalty kick away from the PL, also an FA Cup semi final, and now they haven't started well but are 7 points off the play offs so he has to go.

It's crazy, isn't it. All that achievement, and a few difficult months and he is out. Was the second longest serving manager in the top four divisions, behind Pep.
