Hull Tigers rejected

by TBM » 09 Apr 2014 16:59

Hull City's proposed name change to Hull Tigers has been rejected by the Football Association Council.

So does this mean Assem Allam will now sell the club?

Despite the overwhelming backing to this plan in a recent poll?

:o

(A poll that made the referendum in Crimea recently look as pure as the driven snow incidentally!)

I heard it was rejected mainly due to 'tradition'.

Tradition didn't stop the FA tearing down the Wembley Towers........

Indeed, lovely leading question the season ticket holders were asked!

"Yes to Hull Tigers with the Allam family continuing to lead the club:" 2,565
"No to Hull Tigers:" 2,517
"Not too concerned and will continue to support the club either way:" 792

from an electorate of 15,033 that was a resounding 17% of STHs in favour.

Tbh, and whilst I accept that the majority don't want to see this change - that only 2,500 bothered to vote no is pretty pathetic.

Should have nothing to do with what the Hull fans want tbf, it’s a bigger issue than just them and allowing it sets a precedent.

Although I suspect another backdoor loophole is just around the corner and this will go ahead.

If we had Americanisation of our football team names as Rugby League did, we could have
