Nigel_Diamond Hello again. We respect all views but the fact is a private enterprise is being funded by the tax payer (you and me).
The headline points are:
The tax payer is funding a private enterprise, and in the rush to rid themselves of the stadium the LLDC have gifted WHUFC a deal that gives them a huge and unfair financial advantage over all other clubs in the premier league and down.
As well as contributing just £15m to a £272m renovation fee, they have agreed a rent of £2.5m pa dropping to £1.5m if they get relegated. But the tax payer will, year on year fund the facilities, policing, stewarding, ticketing as well as provide goal posts, nets and the corner flags! All of this has been independently valued at approx. £2.5m pa so WHUFC are effectively getting the stadium rent free.
It’s worth noting WHUFC will shortly begin the sale of their own ground, valued at £78m and not be expected to hand over any of the proceeds of that sale.
Football fans up and down the country have signed the petition and this continues.
If you are prepared to sign as well we would be grateful. If you were to share this on your facebook pages that would be great too. But only if you want to .

Nigel_Diamond Hello everyone
I’m a Leyton Orient Fan and come in peace.
In 2012, London hosted a fantastic Olympics, but the legacy of that event could be the very future of smaller football clubs with a long and proud history. The bill for reconversion of the stadium stands at £272m with West Ham United only contributing £15m. Boris Johnson, the LLDC and the government, refuse point blank to publish the rental agreement that sees the taxpayer forking out for repairs, water, electric, pitch maintenance, stewarding and even policing costs, meaning a massive state aid give away – an unfair subsidy on competition between ALL clubs, and not just those closest to the Queen Elizabeth Park.
We feel this is unfair to all.
A joint London coalition of several fans trusts have started a petition which we urge EVERY football fan and taxpayer to sign – the link to the petition appears below – and to share with friends, family and work colleagues.

If you sold your house and moved into a rented property how much would you give your new landlord?

Winchester Royal WHU are effectively homeowners that are selling up and moving to a fully subsidised council house with a guaranteed rent reduction if things go wrong. They will then do the equivalent of spending their savings on a big TV, by signing players that they wouldn't have been able to afford otherwise.
