Another manipulation

This poll is farced.

I am not saying man utd's is not more prestigous, just Liverpool's in '84 was tougher due to the 3 more games they played, 13 fewer players they used and a new manager at the helm that season, therefore a greater achievement than '99.

As I said, I don't care about the players used, games played etc.

What is the best Treble of all is what I'm getting at.

If Liverpool won the same treble as Manchester United you could then compare the 3 more games they played, 13 fewer players they used and a new manager at the helm that season.

But they didn't.

Other factor you have to remeber is that Liverpool had to play teams that were winning European cups and UEFA cups in that era in the league. Manchester United arguably had a relatively weaker field to beat for the title. However comparisons of cups, leagues, etc 15 years apart are kind of meaningless.

Was Liverpool's victory in the FA Cup this year a greater achievement than the last time Man United won it because, I dunno, the game went on for longer? Or are they both FA Cups at the end of the day?

Man United played more games on their way to victory in Cardiff this year than Liverpool did, so obviously their achievement was greater.

Yes, exactly.

Chelsea could do it next year, although it would be great to knock them out of the League Cup, FA Cup or hold them to a draw when they needed to win.

Same with all clubs.

3 more games with 13 fewer players and a new manager is hardly insignificant is it, like the odd half hour here and there for extra time.

But why is it a "proper" treble? It's just three trophies, which is a treble just like any other treble.

Because its the best three trophies a team can win. Thats why its the 'proper' treble.

Spacey the World Club Cup is pointless. Liverpool's opponents last season in the semis would fit nicely into league one.
