Worried by Watford?

by 1960 » 24 Oct 2007 14:45

Watford flyyyying at the moment and even Darius is smacking them in. The thing is their current form translates as 111 points over the season. Surely they can't beat our proud record. Can they?

If they do, we'll beat it next year :)

Nope - once the winter sets in and their pitch turns into a mud bath things'll tail off for them.

I can see that bady affecting their short passing game. Darius's goals might well dry up.

Boothroyd's done such an incredible job. Just think where they were when he took over. How much we laughed when they signed Marlon King and Darius.

Financially they were crippled, they must be in a fantastic position now with the work Boothroyd's done. They'll be in a strong position and able to spend some serious money next year without risking themselves long term.

What with the worry of relegation, Watford beating our record and the wait for Spacey's next post is it any wonder I have trouble sleeping.

He's got the ego to go with it as well, much to the annoyance of the people that work for him and indeed play for him in some instances.

People say that. Hardly looks like it effects anything though.

Whilst their results seem to be fine, harmony is certainly not in place amongst the setup there. Boothroyd just believes his own hype too much and is a bully boy with players and coaches alike. I just don't like the man, his methods or his tactics.

I can also see them losing Marlon King in January.

Marlon King does what Marlon King wants at Watford, so very likely.

Personally I see Leeds as the more worrying threat to our record but there is a heck of a long way to go yet....

Indeed, they've got to get in the right division for a start !

And, even if they were in the correct league, they'd need to only drop 16 points over the whole season to beat it thanks to their points deduction...

Do you know people who work for the club and they have told you such things?

I know Aidy did get rid of some key coaching staff (Isn't Nigel Gibbs with you now) rather suddenly and without much of an explaination.

Does have an ego but then he seems to keep most of the players onside and playing including Darius after being keen to sell him this summer!

Always a positive thinker...even last season when most would have just got depressed.

You can't imagine Keith Berkinshaw taking any crap with all the years he's spent in the game.

Boothroyd seems to have the arrogance that all top managers have.
