Bye bye Rotherham?

Looks like Rotherham is on the verge of extinction. They have until 5:00pm today to have a bid accepted or they face being liquidated. Its really sad to see clubs in this state and I really think the FA need to address this ridiculous rule of docking clubs points for going into administration, even if Rotherham survive, the points loss could well cost them a place in the league.

It wasn't that long ago they were one of our main rivals.

Sorry but I lost all respect for Rotherham when they pipped us to automatic promotion (OK fair enough, they must have deserved to over the season), but then "celebrated" by taunting Reading and Martin Allen in particular.

It doesn't mean that they deserve what has subsequently happened to them though.

I wonder how long it will be before the football league has to shrink in size because it can no longer support 72 professional clubs

I don't like football clubs going out of business.

Is there a Facebook bandwagon I can join this time?

Why did Rotherham build a new stand last year when they clearly had money troubles?

IS it bad that I wouldn't mind if they did IF it offered a possibility of 2 going straight up from the BSP? ;)

although I expect the 2nd bottom team would stay up, 1 down 2 up still.

Definitely but they went down twice as everything went to pieces.

I think a couple have been bought out or at least got outside help.

Apparently (reported on Teletext & Radio Sheffield?) there a couple of offers on the table to ensure they survive and the club will be considering these next week.

The general view is it would not mean an additional promotion place but that Mansfield would probably get a reprieve, should The Millers go under.

Apparently Martin Allen had been making one or two comments, shall we say. It was all in response to that.
