Lampard to Inter

by Seal » 06 Jun 2008 19:36

On the topic of big transfers...

I was at an ad shoot today with Frank Lampard and his agent (who by the way is a prize c0ck). Inter Milan are gonna offer him a HUGE salary, and it's looking pretty likely he'll be off there this summer. Couldn't quite believe quite how candid they were about it, but I would say it's 50:50 at best that he'll stay at Chelsea...

And you'll be happy with that swap? Don't get me wrong, I think Deco is a marvelous player; but he strikes me as the type who may not be suited to the Premier League, especially at 31.

I’m surprised Kes is happy to swap a Deco who was better three years ago with the man he insists is the greatest midfielder in Premier League history. HaROFLoLOLd.

Deco’s an enormously frustrating player. Some days brilliant, other times he just looks disinterested. Lampard’s excellent for Chelsea. Mr consistent. Superb goals to game ratio. That said if Ballack continues in his fine form found under Grant, Makelele holds on for another year and they can find a top-drawer lone striker to replace Drogba, it could be an alright swap.

I'd expect a lot about Chelsea to change once a new manager is appointed.

Losing Lampard might actually be a blessing for an incoming manager as he'll have a bit more freedom to build the team he wants as opposed to having to build a team around the current midfield formula. Lampard isn't anywhere near as effective playing without the freedom he's had at Chelsea these last few seasons and if the new manager wants to play a more orthadox 4 in midfield he'll struggle to fit Lampard in. That'd be a big decision for a new manager to face, and not one that'd be too popular with the Stamford Bridge faithful.

It would be a good move for him, playing for a side like that, new culture and surroundings etc, will do him a lot of good and could improve him further.

Don't agree with you there if I'm honest. I reckon it would ruin his career.

They weren't rings. They were turning circles.

Seal and Deco in by the looks of things.

Another cLOLassic movement of assets by Abramovic.

That'd be three Abramovic-owned clubs that Deco has played for if it comes off.

Chelsea will probably move for Gerrard, who since declaring he wanted to leave to win things in June 2005 has only won the FA Cup in 3 years.
