Olympics Brazil Vs Belgium: China Vs New Zealand

by Flyingkiwi » 07 Aug 2008 10:46

Mens competion underway. I'm looking for the NZ men to emulate the relative success of the women last night (ie not to get beaten: or at least for it to be respectable. It's only China).

Half Time in the early game!

Brazil 0 Belgium 0.

Brazil just ahead on points but only clear chance so far fell to Belgium.

Still 0 - 0 (70mins) but the Belgian captain Kompany (or something like that) just got his marching orders for two yellow cards (first one was very harsh but no argument with the second),

Vincent Kompany, a very good FM signing.

Nothing much going right for poor old Belgium. Down to 9 men now. Total cock-up by the referee. The guy never touched the man!

OK. That's the end of that one.

Brazil 1 Vs Belgium 0.

China Vs New Zealand kicking off in 45 minutes. You'd expect China to win because NZ are crap, BUT, so are China so it could be close.

Anyway, I'm predicting that NZ will not finish the game with the same number of players they start with. Not, you understand, because they are dirty and tend to get sent off but rather because the general tactic involved in Chinese football is to kick the snot out of the opposition until you gain an advantage that can be turned into a one nil lead and then, from that point on, throw yourself to the ground and begin to roll as if you have just been shot until the ref blows his whistle, the streacher bearers have come on and the game has been held up for 5 minutes.

They watch a lot a of seria A over here.

TBM. TV Ants CCTV5.

New Zealand down to 10 men before half-time. Old, second booking for a rather pathetic hand-ball (both booking were a bit hash in my unbiased opinion).

Half-Time: 0 - 0.

NZ riding their luck something chronic, Chinese hit the bar after 3 minutes, but China playing there usual, clueless game too. The defense of both teams reminds one of matches at primary school.

Lost count of the number of bookings so far. Referee's been pretty good and consistent (except perhaps for the Red).

Can't imagine it'll stay scoreless but can't see China scoring that many either.
