cmonurz Big, big loss for Chelsea, as important as Ballack to the team, imho. No Makelele in reserve either.

TheMaraudingDog We were in for him yeah. He went to Chelsea though, not for the money as was reported, but to win the Champions League. Fair play to him.

Harry Carry If you can buy success, then after a summer of big spending from the likes of Villa, Liverpool, man City etc..., they'll all finish above Chelsea and all go further in the CL.

I think you'll find the total value of those clubs' players against Ch£lsea's, er, no contest. And you still can't win the one trophy you're desperate to win!
Man City will win it within 5 years. Roman will have given up by then and left you with huge losses and hopefully a nice big debt to boot.

it is more important to have quality than quantity
liverpool have some awsome players and then the rest of their squad is piss poor imo
don't rate benitez either as his rotation system has only ruined any chance liverpool had of winning the prem the last few seasons

Depends what you count. If they've given numbers to a bunch of 19 year olds then that's just silly imo.

Not at all. In fact, Liverpool went out last summer or the one before that and bought a handful of South American U-21s such as Insua, Leto and Lucas, who admittedly has played a significant number of games. But how many of the squad outside of the core first team will play more than a handful of cup games?
Sure, let them have a number, good for the self-esteem, but have an ounce of common sense when coming up with things such as "biggest squad in Europe".
You have to compare like with like or you could simply prove whatever assertion you wanted.
