World cup qualifiers

by TBM » 06 Jun 2009 14:36

How do you see todays game going (whoever your team is)

What bout Wednesday?

Personally can't see any trouble for England, although the long trek might take it's toll.

I fancy Azerbaijan to beat Wales and Bolivia are the outstanding bet tonight in South America, no team gets a result when they are at home with the alitude issues.

Iran already drew 0-0 with North Korea.

Not a great result for Team Melli. Iran now need to beat UAE by 2 goals and rely on other results. No reports so far of how the players were treated, last time they played North Korea the Korean fans attacked the Iran team in the stadium and then again on the bus when leaving.

Japan is only 45 minutes away to qualify for World Cup, as we are 1-0 up against Uzbekistan after half time in Toshkent.
If we win, we will be the first team to qualify for South Africa apart from Host country.

Japan defeat Uzbekistan and we are officially qualified to WC.
Apparently, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Rivaldo were watching the match from the stand.

Just been watching the first 60 minutes of the England game-my how dull,it made me come on here, which often is also dull but just once in a while there are the occasional interesting posts.
There really should be a different method of qualification where teams like Kazakstan,San Marino,Luxemburg,Andorra and so on can have their own qualification group rather than playing against far better sides and always coming bottom or near bottom of their groups.

Bulgaria look to be good value at evens v Ireland.

Yep pretty dull but I miss footie so have watched it.

Think England have been pretty poor to be honest and Kazachstan have been good. For the score to be 4-0 it just shows the gulf in quality though. England only need to try for a couple of minutes and they win.

Your idea is a good one. But Lichtenstein are beating Finland away as we speak - edit - Finland just scored to make it 1-1.

Worked hard and had a few nice touches, didn't get much service though.

You have togive it to the Irish-very little ability but massive commitment and Richard Dunne was a star tonight.
Our player was taken off after 70 minutes.

Why? Nations such as Turkey, Greece and Slovenia would never have improved if they had to play the same shite every time before playing "bigger" fish.

Epic misses from Larsson and Ibrahimovic as Sweden lose at home 0-1 to the Danes, and they're in real trouble now.

Same will be true of Portugal in that group unless they can do better than draw in Albania as they are at the moment.

Romania had to have the three points that they took from Lithuania.

Quite. You also have to ask when these pre-qualifiers would be played. When would Latvia have pre-qualified for the 2006 World Cup Qualifiers, given that they were playing at the European Championship finals in the summer of 2004?
