He might be a very nice bloke who's good to his kids and old ladies but do you like him as a football pundit or not?

I don't understand why Crooks is there. He's pompous (nothing too wrong with that of course  ), unamusing, bland and pretty much unlikeable, by, I suspect, all levels / classes of football fans. Not a great combination.

Is it coz he's black, a bit more intelligent than the average ex-footballer and can construct a sentence with a proper beginning and end unlike 90% of the Sky pundits?

He just has to work on the middle part now.

I can now officially confirm that I don't like him either.

He's not exactly too hot on the end part either.

If Garth Crooks was the host of who wants to be a millionaire then the £100 question "Humpty dumpty fell off a..."

a) house
b) wall
c) horse
d) wagon"

...would be asked as "well Neil, you're here, sitting in that chair, with the nation's eyes upon you, wondering how you'll react to the situation. And the situation is this. Let me put it this way. Just imagine there was a fictional nursery rhyme character, known as humpty dumpty, who was, at one unspecified time perched precariously in a high position. Now common wisdom on this matter is that humpty dumpty did at one stage somehow slip from the precarious position and fall to the floor and break, whereupon despite the best efforts of all the king's horses and all the king's men, there was a failure to put humpty together again. Now, putting aside the question of what use the king's horses could actually be for one moment, the real issue at hand here is what it actually was that humpty fell off. I think that's the question the public would like to hear you answer."

He's not as bad as Merson...

Merson is value for money. Appreciative of smaller clubs and the lower levels of the game. Crooks is simply a stuck up little coont. I've had the misfortune to meet him on a few occasions and can confirm he's as bigger arse in person as he is talking about a game that has completly changed since 20 or so years it's been since he played it.

Watched him on Saturday and I don't think his fellow pundits like him much either.

The guy has absolutely no sense of humour!

I was ready to smash the radio up during 5 Lives commentary of Manchester Utd v Birmingham.

Can someone tell Robbie Savage that constantly referring to "Man U" makes him sound like a 5 year old?
