Don't think he helped himself by blaming the negativity around the club on the fans

Read he had a little pop at the home fans last night..seems the chairman sided with those Bolton supporters.

More sensible decision than PNE yesterday. Megson isn't a good manager and everywhere he goes he loses the fans. Losing a 2 goal lead to relegation rival can't help either

Bolton fans need to have a chat with Charlton fans to establish whether mid-to-lower Prem. football plus the occasional bit of European football is preferable to 3rd division stuff.
Megson has dictated a style of football to try to keep the club up with the level of players that the club can afford.
I don't like long-ball football but I feel a bit sorry for Megson and now hope they get relegated.

Bolton are just the right team for Mark Hughes to manage.....the way he had Blackburn playing (tough) is just how Bolton can turn their season around, especially with the players they have there.

Hughes to be appointed before their next Premiership fixture i reckon.

Absolutley no chance at all. Mark Hughes has built a very good CV with Blackburn and Manchester City. He will have his sights set a lot higher than Bolton Wanderers.

Like?

Maybe he'll wait a bit and get the Villa job after O'Neil goes to Liverpool or United? Everton perhaps? West Ham?

Not sure what other jobs might be on the horizon, Bolton wouldn't be such a bad job, even if it was just for the short term.

funny thing was, earlier today and unbeknown

I was winding up a Forest supporting work colleague that Billy Davies was going to Bolton when Megson got the sack,
and Megson would be going to Preston

Bearing-in-mind the crucifying that Megson has had to put up with since his arrival at the reebok.............it will make for some very entertaining stuff now that he can shout back.

He's been 'shouting back' since the beginning. The man seems socially inept to autistic levels, something which has followed him around since fairly early on in his career. He's probably a decent Championship manager, but ought never to be allowed near the top flight again - all the accusations of route one brutality levelled at Bolton during the Allardyce years by people who'd never seen them play suddenly came true. This seemed a very odd appointment at the time, and Bolton's survival since would appear to have been by dint of fortune alone.

now "off of the leash" he can shout even LOUDER

As I said, should be "entertaining"

I will ne'er forget that walk of shame after the game at Wembley '95.....I hate Bolton

and there was no "dint of fortune" when they did us 2-0 at the Madejski in the Prem turning the relegation mixer around another turn.

Would have to laugh if they end up with Peter Reid.

If they thought the football under Megson was bad imagine what the utter cnut will do to the side.

Odd's on Kitson being Reid's 1st signing??

Going purely on the attitudes of Bolton-supporting friends and family, to appoint another old-school negative type would be suicidal of the board. If Gartside is listening to the fans (not necessarily the best idea, obviously), expect a more modern sort of coach, a Rodgers type such as Paul Jewell perhaps.

Considering Fergie Jr failed in the championship, which is why I wouldn't really want him for us, is there further proof needed that the managerial merry-go-round is mental than him being something like 4th favourite for a premier league job? Do people not remember Paul Ince?

Don't really think Paul Jewell's a "modern sort of coach"
