Manchester is....

by TheMaraudingDog » 20 Jan 2010 10:31

Well by judging press reports, Hoolie Forum Reports and a quick look at links on Blue Moon (they bullied us - LOL) its fair to say that Manchester is red.

Nights events summed up nicely here with not a mention of City. Can't imagine City steaming out of the away end next week or walking up to OT mob handed. No chance that will happen.

Oh, who gives a f*ck what happens on the pitch 8)

Bank of England pub is boarded up. Well, it was in the summer.

Seriously, you're welcome to that part of town. Lived there last year - New IsLOLington.

You watched a different game to me.

Last 10 was all United but City had a spell of 20-30 minutes just after half time where they put the pressure on and kept it on. Anderson misread a ball, de Jong (I think) recovered quickly and its 2-1.

EDIT: Police dogs deployed as 200 united fans move towards asda instead of city centre.

This amuses me.

Lets face it, if it wasn't for a pen that never was and a corner that never was it would have been 1-0 United.

Odd that when decisions go United's way such as 'Fergie Time' its all over the press.

United controlled first half and out of a 180 minute tie City puts their backs to the wall from the 70th minute.

3-1 to United at OT and Gary Neville will march to Wemblers again while Tevez looks forward to Europa League football next season.

You seem to have missed the body block that Rafael carried out on Bellamy earlier before the penalty was awarded.

There were tackles flying in all over Spacey. The worst being Bellamy on Valencia. Valencia is quite a hard bastard though so took it, if he went rolling over could have been a yellow at best for Bellamy.

Not sure on the corner - Bellamy seemed to know it would have been a corner if he didn't reach it and no-one complained at the time.

The penalty - perhaps harsh but its an understandable decision - give Bellamy the advantage and then he's fouled again. Very borderline, but I don't think you'd feel that guilty if you got such a decision.

I was really impressed by City's workrate - closed down United throughout.
United looked a bit shaky at the back and didn't seem to get the ball moving quickly. Owen came on, so they tried through balls. None really worked. Didn't have enough guile out wide.

The worst being Bellamy on Valencia.

Just after the penalty? Yeah. Should have been a booking - watch the replay and Bellamy gets at least one foot in on Valencia's ankle as well.

soggy biscuit Carlos Tevez 2-1 Gary Neville

I did LOLaugh last night at tevez, neville's a fud and deserves every bit of it. When they put the cmaera on United fans celebrating their own goal I actually saw day trippers and shirters celebrating by clapping and high fiving each other, cringe worthy scenes.

Where was the security for this game as a United fan was arrested inside the ground after setting off two red flares?

Looking forward to the second leg, the real event.

Also looking forward to seeing,

Japanese tourists with megastore bags
Red and white jester hats
The turbanators behind the dug outs
Lots of daytrippers camera flashlights going off in the Theatre of Wet Dreams

Oh and City scraping through

rubbish. evry club gets the rub of the green one week and then not the next. you've had your share of luck, good and bad. no more so than city last night. make the home leg count, or face humiliation on your own turf. its great for football that the rivalry between the two clubs is increasing now. good viewing

Turbanators :o

I somehow doubt that we'll face the same humiliation on our own turf as what City got last night.

City were humiliated by having THEIR city and THEIR pubs taken over and ranpaged through by groups of Japanese tourists with megastore bags, Red and white jester hat wearing mongs, The turbanators, daytrippers with cameras and shirters high fiving each other.
