Man City vs Spurs

by Zammo » 05 May 2010 12:20

I am sooooo looking forward to this game tonight. I intend to nip up the local at 7.55pm so I can watch uninterrupted (no wife, no kids).

Personally, I am hoping for a Spurs win. Mancini does not deserve to be lauded for securing a Champions League spot. In fact, if I had managed Man City; 4th place would already be in the bag.

I'm all for City fcuking up - I hate the mega rich owners coming in buying world class players and instant success. LOL @ Abramovich still not getting that European trophy though and more LOLs if City don't even get in.

On the other hand, it's Harry.

Care little for either club reaching the CL, but should be a good game. City will spend massivly this summer if they qualify, and that could shake up the title race for next season.

I can't see whats not to like about H, the bloke is a genius in the transfer market, yes he may damage your wage bill a bit, but you get more than compensated for that with a decent stint in the prem, and, he LOVES a punt.

Spurs for me

If by damage the wage bill a bit, you mean totally destroy the club, then fcuk off and still be a big enough cnut to turn round and tell the fans the be greatful? But he looks after the boys in the media, so no one will actually mention that.

Spurs prob need this more than City.

Anyways the real game of the day is 7pm kick of down Ashton Gate for the Gloucester Cup final.

He works with the budget given, Pompey has been more bad ownership than bad management, a club punching way above their weight, 2 cup finals and a few seasons in the prem, is far more than they must ever have dreamed, he brings the dream to reality and then leaves in a flash of smoke.

'greed, Treds. His job is to spend what he's given and bring success.

In fairness, you don't even watch your own club, so the chances of you watching this was always going to be ZERO.

I have a hunch that that very first point is stretching it somewhat

Redknapp wasn't signing the cheques.

He can only spend what the club allows him too. If they don't manage the money sensibly, it's not really Redknapp's fault tbf.

I get behind all of the English clubs in european football - even Man Utd to my disgust, Man City would throw everything at it if they get in, big name signings to come over so for that reason its City for me.

I think he has a knack of persuading owners that player XX is absolutely vital.

It's surely not a coincidence that teams he manage subsequently have serious financial issues.

Exactly, as I said it's not as if he's signing the cheques himself.

Pompey gambled hugely.
