Holland v Spain - World Cup Final

by Compo's Hat » 07 Jul 2010 22:12

Think the Dutch will need to get stuck in and get Robben in to the game at every possible occasion but can't see past Spain though from what i've seen from both teams in the tournement.

Spain would be the first to lose their opening match and go on to win if they did

Dutch would be the first to win every one of their matches in the competition since ______ ? (dunno; would be interested, and in particular with an eye toward the fact that they haven't needed extra time or penalties to win yet)

A quick trawl shows Brazil 2002 won each of their matches in 90mins.

Spain, I think Holland look rather ordinary (although effective thus far)

Cheerz maing, much obliged --85 degrees @ 74 percent humidity here, and I've gone a tad wiggy (to say nothing of lazy)

Would like Holland to win, but it's hard to see beyond Spain scoring the single goal of the game between 60 and 75 minutes.

If they play like they did in the 2nd half tonight then they will be dancing on the streets of Zaragoza Sunday night.

I think Spain will win but I hope Holland do.

From an exciting tournament we end up with a boring final between two boring teams.

Spain to bore Holland into submission and score the only goal of the game in the last 20 mins

Only seen one Holland game so far, which was their semi-final win, so can't really judge how they've done through the tournament. Do like the idea of the WC winner being the team that has won every game though.

Spain, however, have looked ordinary prior to last night, when they suddenly remembered how to play football. If they play like they did last night and Holland play like they did on Tuesday, I've got to agree with Baines and JMW - Spain to win 1-0, goal scored around the 75-80 minute mark.

I very much doubt a team has won all their matches including qualifiers

As Holland were the first team to win all their qualifiers IIRC that seems likely

I understand its congratulations to Howard Webb and his English team who will referee the World Cup final.

Congratulations and brilliant news.

At the age of 38, he has now done everything. Crazy.
