Transfers Will Go Through Next Week

by tomrfcurz » 08 Aug 2008 12:15

Just watching Sky Sports News and they had a little feature on how RFC should not lose any more players and following this the reporter claimed that Championship clubs (inc. RFC) will start to sign players quickly within the next couple of weeks as the Premier League teams are set to let players go after they find out who they will sign before the PL season start. I expect we will sign a new striker, Collins John is set to be released by Fulham ? And a left back. LETS HOPE SC SIGNS SOME DECENT PLAYERS THEN.

Tell me how you expect us to sign a 5th striker?

We hear this every summer as the window comes to an end and we always rush out buy buy buy...

The only way we are even going to think about signing a new striker is if one of the current lot leave and if that happens I would hope the replacement would be significantly better than Collins John.

Collins John would give us zip more than what we already have. Lita >>>>>>> John.

We need height up front more than anything, if we were in the market for another striker.

always quite liked Collins John but he didn't do anything at Leicester or Watford last season. IF we get another forward (we won't) then it has to be someone 6ft+.

We might sign a left back, that'll be it I reckon. This squad showed last year that it can handle anything and is worth perservering with.

Seeing how coppell seems to have a small budget i cant see why he would buy another striker when we have got 4
LB will take priority as we only really have golbourne to take over from shorey
Maybe a RM as well as im not sure about whether henry will get a chance in the first team. This only leaves us with kebe (legend)
It is possible that we will lose more key players (doyle, hunt etc) before the end of the transfer window and i reckon these will be replaced

Disagree with the first one, totally agree on the second two.

I could cope with Kebe and Henry providing everyone else was playing on form though. Just.

According to SKY Sports News, Steven Hunt will provide the cover for LB

For the season? That's funny, I'm pretty sure I read SC on the official site saying that we were looking to bring another left back in. But I expect Sky Sports know best.

I like the way the word "cover" is used, when the real expression is moreso that he is the "only" experienced player in our entire squad available who can play there (sort of).

There must be room in the West Ham medical room now that Shorey has moved out?
