Ideal I don't think we'll sign anyone, we'll hear the same old bullshit that it is so hard to get anyone in january and we should wait until the summer bla bla bla....

Ideal Oh I forgot, last january we made such massive headway into the transfer market by signing two players and none of them were what we needed at the time.
I fully expect the same thing to happen again. If january comes and what we need is a defensive midfielder, we will sign a backup goalkeeper instead.
If january comes and what we desperately need is a right winger, then we will most likely sign a french-african left back who needs time to settle in, "one for the future" on the cheap.

exileinleeds Would it be insane to look at Jamal Cambell Ryce from Barnsley? He looks a decent hard working striker...no Kev Doyle, but maybe could be moulded....

Ideal Yes, I know we rate them differently.
But I am sure we both agree that they were not what we needed right then and there.
We needed a hard working DMC - we got a non-tackling low on stamina playmaker.
We desperately needed a brilliant right winger, we got.. well.. a poor mans John Oster - we already had the original, and he wasn't doing all that great.
Straying slightly off topic here, but I think Marek and Harper would do better together in a 4-3-3, with a DMC to help them out, sort of like what Aston Villa are playing, and I think Hunt would fit in well in a similar role to Ashley Young. Perhaps even Kebe would do better as a right sided attacker.

Harry Carry Miroslav Stoch.
And a striker and left winger to replace Doyle and S Hunt.
