SPECULATION - Paddy Kenny?

by One Beer is never enough. » 29 Dec 2008 16:45

Listed by Sheff Utd. Always good for a bit of banter, and a not a bad keeper either. Could be good competition for an ageing Marcus, but would mean Fed being moved back down the pecking order as I doubt he would come here to sit on the bench.. (although if Macus kept him out he clearly would be!)

Is a good keeper but isn't any better than our first and second choice (or at least not significantly better) to be of value.

Sheffield Utd are really quite stupid to be honest. Fine him and move on.

Fatty Kenny?

Good shot stopper, but not as good as Hahnemann and no point bringing him in to sit on the bench or impede Federici's development.

Rumoured to be going to Newcastle if Given or Harper move on in Jan.

He's not that big anymore. Lost a lot of weight.

Having watched kenny for years I would say he is one of if not the best keeper in this league.

Almost never makes handling errors, and kept us in match after match when we were failing to score this season. I would be gutted to see him go.

He'd be third choice here.

Kenny has always struck me as a very good keeper who hasn't ever played at the top for good reasons. Probably like Marcus his decision making lets him down at times - races out of the area for balls he can;t get, stays when he should race out.

Kenny and Marcus both also make exceptional saves but I wouldn't rank Kenny above Marcus and as things stand I'm becoming more relaxed with Federici instead of Marcus !!

Didn't Kenny play for Sheff Utd in the top flight? He's a good keeper but not a great one. Marcus edges him for me too.

Yes, but one season of a relegation battle isn't what I had in mind as 'at the top' !! He's been a well thought of Championship keeper for too many seasons without really being linked to a move to a top half of the Prem type club.

He isn't fat. You can't surely call him a cheat either? Justify that? He handled outside the area. His momentum carried him. The ref was to blame for handing out a red card. But calling Kenny a cheat is ridiculas.

He's a very good keeper. Don't be so short sighted.

There was the incident with Convey as well - but agree that it would be daft to let his various indiscretions obscure his ability. Marcus has not always been an angel !

Kenny has certainly been known for carrying a little more round the middle than your average keeper.
