Speculation: Bent and McSheffrey

Probably because we are in the market for a striker. Creating chances is not a problem, scoring them is.......

He's played upfront quite a bit in the past, and has a good scoring record from out wide which would perhaps take the pressure off the front two to score, or allow Sigurdsson to play more centrally.

Who would score more goals upfront, Church or McSheffrey?

I'd say it's more like we didn't rate him or couldn't afford him than anything else...

I would say it is most likely that we weren't interested because he isn't the type of player/striker we are looking for.

Based on what McD has said he would like the rare breed of striker called a "goalscorer" - then one that is almost guaranteed to score you goals - a Kevin Phillips, a Jamie Cureton, that type........
