but what is the point of naming a player in your 25 and then sending him out on loan? Cos then you've only got 24.

If you name him then he's eligible to play if needed in case of injuries or suspensions etc. He might potentially still be 6th or 7th choice forward though, so it's unlikely he'll play that often.

If you send him out on loan then you're keeping him fit, putting him in the shop window, getting the wage of your books and can recall him if needed (outside of the first month of course).

Is it that hard to grasp? Why wouldn't you name him in the squad?
