That account also posted a photo of the Walkers Stadium. Some kid on BBC 606 mentioned it earlier.

It's some spotty loft dweller trying to have a giggle. Forget the whole Charlie Austin thing. He's not signing for us.

I hope this is wrong but it looks as if the Burnley speculation about him could be correct...

We were never ever going to pay the money Swindon wanted for him ...so it was always a non -starter

Hammond would probably have said to the Swindon chairman " we'll give you £200k up front, another £200k if we get promoted, another £200k if Austin scores 50 goals next season, another £200k if we qualify for Europe and a final £200k if Austin gets an England cap......

thats how Reading would bid £1m :D

Quoting from that article:

On the reported £1.2 million fee the Poole manager said:
“I don’t feel qualified to say whether Charlie is definitely worth £1.2 million...you would have to say £1.2m looks like a reasonable amount for him.”

Agree

Although 700k and HRK bid would be be nice

700k, HRK and Brett Williams on loan for the rest of the season = a winner. Not that it'll happen.

From SSN

Swindon chairman Andrew Fitton has conceded the club will have to be realistic over their attempts to keep hold of in-demand striker Charlie Austin.

A host of clubs are believed to be chasing the free-scoring forward with Swindon already turing down bids from Hull City and Reading for the 21-year-old.

Not a bad shout that but like you said the big stumbling block for mad man is the 700k (unless he can use monopoly money)

It would also only leave us with Antonio as cover for Kebe and McAnuff.

That'd require him to buy more than one set, so that's out.

Worthwhile risk IMO, considering Hunt could play wing, even Cummings at right wing may work well

Howard couldnt even play with his own todger ! ....one cameo performance years ago got clubs scrambling for him......he didnt live up to the hype and I think if we ever wanted to get shot of him, no ambitious club would take him IMHO

Interesting to see Burnley have asked Everton permission to speak to James Vaughan _ Wondering whether this would be in addition to their supposed move for Austin, or instead of............................

Blackpool now interested in Austin. That would be a great bit of business for Pool. I don't think for one minute he is ready for the Premiership, but Blackpool have to prepare in case of a relegation this season or the next, and players like Austin who will improve will be priceless to them if they hope to to make a return to the top flight (if that relegation did come).
