Franchise FC If Peterborough don't come up we must be in the hunt for CMS

I know, WCBAP and TFCBAP but surely he'll be cheaper than Shlong

Depends who else is in for him really but I think there will be sufficient interest in him to put us out of the running.

Signing for Norwich apparently.

There's a clearance sale at Upton Park though. :D

West Ham's Wages are very high. Sixth highest total in the Prem

BBC reckons they will sell very few because they are too expensive

WH's other option will be loans for half-wages

If we get over six million from the sale of players we might have a look through the list of players hawking themselves through the PFA as available on free transfers.

Go for any Korean International who can run over 13 kilo metres in a game.

if we went up

by brendywendy » 19 May 2011 14:53

not counting any chickens, but........

if we went up, wed need a new striker
but as for getting loads of other players in, i think id rather let players like pearce, cummings, karacan and taylor play than have them spend a season in the ressies.

or would getting stuffed every week be even worse for their development?

It is too preemptive Brendy. SJM must be sweating it at the thought of the additional spend needed. Though he might lick his lips at the prospect of selling the club.

I bet we don't bring in many new players - we're guaranteed £90million - and even if we go straight back down - we're quids in, so SJM will be happy with that.

The minimum we'd need is a striker, a left back and Khiz/Ledge.

We could look to sign Borini? His movement looks intelligent, Long can run his bollocks off and then Borini can make the smart runs that we have been lacking as we always seem to expect Long to win 2 headers in a row, take it round 11 players, the ref all of the crowd then score ... which he has done in fairness :D

Can't see Chelsea selling bertrand now though :/ after the pundits jizzed over his cross (in the champions league i believe? could be wrong) whittingham would be nice no doubt! Would rather see Gylfi return for 8/9m than how much it would cost for Defoe! We can all dream though :/

We'd need: Somebody to replace Mills - for me he lacks concentration in small games (Sheff Utd at Home for example) and doesn't often win it in the air compared to Khish.

Another winger to act as cover for McAnuff and Kebe - HRK is getting there but if one is injured then that leaves nobody on the bench
Another striker who is a known prolific goalscorer, not somebody who may be good - no risks.

And Sign : Khish and Legs.

Sell Feds.

If we do win, and that is a HUGE if, I see the team remaining essentially the same. We might pick-up another striker to play along side of Long and maybe a defender or two since some of our backline is getting up there in years and might not have the pace to cope with the speed of the PL. But overall if we do go up all it will do is give affirmation to the chairman that his low spending model from this season worked, so in his mind why change it.

Sturridge would be the nuts! More chance of playing the season opener at Elm Park though, sadly.
