I don't think it will happen, seems injury prone only 4 games since January for Bournemouth

Not going to happen - no team should have more than one Mathieu

If he's got the four to choose from: a relegated Preston, low table Doncaster, League One Bournemouth or play off finalists. No brainer but as he's said he wanted to stay at Bournemouth i can see them giving him a very good offer

Did I miss something?

If the guy can't get in the Bournemouth side, why would we expect him to be a good Championship stopper?

Baudry considering options
Reading, Doncaster and Preston interested in French stopper

Skysports.com understands Bournemouth centre-back Mathieu Baudry is considering his future after being offered a new deal at the club.

Bradbury: Has offered new deal to Baudry

Baudry is available on a free transfer this summer if suitors come knocking, with Championship clubs Reading and Doncaster and relegated Preston reportedly interested.

But Lee Bradbury's Cherries have bid to keep the 23-year-old at Dean Court by offering him an extension on his contract, and Baudry is mulling over his options.

The Frenchman has made four appearances for the League One side, scoring one goal, since arriving from native club Troyes in January.

I understand he's been injured for the majority of his time and he only signed in January so it wasn't even a full season. And, similarly to what was said above - it's not like RFC can't get the best out of players that are out of favour / lack playing time at their previous club, perhaps Leigertwood can be considered as the latest example

In January 2009, Troyes wasted no time in offering Mathieu Baudry a contract extension to his current deal to tie him to the club until the summer of 2011.[1] Although only playing 17 games for Troyes in the 2008/2009 season, Baudry was awarded young player of the year and the club's players player of the year, proving himself to be one of the most promising young centre back's in the French second division. At 6 feet 2 inches tall, Baudry is a big, strong no-nonsense defender who loves to put a foot in and intercept, he is also very good in the air and has good positional awareness.

Baudry had a clause in his contract which allowed him to speak with other clubs following Troyes relegation to the 3rd tier of French football. Before the 2009/2010 season a number of English clubs took an interest in taking the strong Frenchman on trial. Baudry had a 2 week trial with English 3rd division club Leeds United.

Baudry made his first performance in a friendly match for Leeds United in the 1-1 draw against Grimsby Town, excelling and winning praise from the Leeds manager. Simon Grayson said he was very impressed with Baudry's performance.

Simon Grayson confirmed that Leeds were looking to sign Baudry providing the clubs agreed a fee.[2] The deal was not concluded because the loan and fee was not attractive to Troyes. In the summer of 2011, Baudry was linked with moves to Preston, Doncaster and Reading.

Can't say i know much about the lad, but we'll have to sign a centre back at some point, even though it looks like we've missed out on this lad!

A new contract is often a way to increase the release clause in a player's contract so the selling club gets more money for them if they're sold.
