For Comparison, here is KEBE at RFC

71 (16) 1 in 3.52 Games 21 Goals
71 (16) 1 in 5.28 Games 14 Assists
71 (16) 1 in 2.11 Games 35 Either

McAnuff's 338 (28) career appearance record is 4.635 times Kebe's at RFC

Multiply McAnuff's career figures by 4.635 for a direct comparison

Kebe 096-042 McAnuff Goals Kebe is 292%
Kebe 064-053 McAnuff Assists Kebe is 121%
Kebe 160-095 McAnuff Either Kebe is 168%

Both "343 Appearances"

Ian Royal £2m is good money for Jobi... we paid what, £500k?

But I think he's a fantastic player and would be a big loss. He doesn't threaten as much as Kebe, and he's not as deadly on his day. But he's just all-round a really good player. Far smarter than Kebe and much more complete.

We'd survive, but Jobi is probably the one player I am most desperate for us to keep.

Think Jobi's got it spot on in that article, he's just about good enough for the Prem in every way except goalscoring. He's not outstanding in any one area, just very good, apart from goalscoring where he's realtively poor.

Personally I think he's a far better player than SHunt for example, but he just doesn't do quite enough at any one time to really stand out and get that big transfer.

IR agree with the bit in bold ....but hardly a big ask in the scheme of things

I saw today that Wayne Routledge had turned down a contract offer from QPR so maybe some fire for the smoke...

Supposedly it was his loyalty payment from Newcastle , and Colin appears to be on a tight budget so thinks the £1.5m plus wages are best spent elsewhere

qpr are headed for a tough old season. they might have fancy dan rich owners but bizarly they don't seem very keen to spend money now they're in the premiership. it makes you wonder what they're at qpr for.

 have you watched his all round game, forget his fame Cardiff etc, remember at Wembley him strolling back whist Harte got rinsed

No one's perfect. But I've seen him doing more defensive work for us than just about any other winger I've seen in the hoops. Yes I have watched his all round game and bar the Kebe solo show and hoofs to Long he's at the heart of virtually all our best play.

:| Making money by the looks of it. Spend a pittance in the Prem and hope there's at least three teams worse and they can rake it in then sell for a big old profit.

Maybe he is friends with Wayne Routledge (Crystal Palace days??) - he is still a Newcastle player isn't he?

I'm a big McAnuff fan but I think he's rightly found his level in the top half of the Championship.

I could understand him leaving to have a stab at making it in the Premier League (there are lesser players who are sat in many squads up there) but I don't think he quite has enough to make much of an impact.

As a senior pro and one of McDermotts more consistent and reliable performers I'm sure he's more important to us than he would be as a squad player at places like Newcastle or QPR. Hopefully that means we won't receive a good enough offer to prise him away.

If only he could learn to score he'd be a world-beater. So many times he's done the really difficult so well and then buggered up the easy finish - the one that really springs to mind is his Maradona-esque run at Liverpool, where he then missed scoring the goal of the century.

I'm sure it's a mental thing - but at Cardiff he did put it away after a similar run, so maybe that's a sign he's got it beaten.

I don't think he has it beat Dirk. It's a shame because otherwise he's a top draw player as you say. But he scuffs shots far too often. It's clearly a mental thing... like the blood rushes to his head and he tries just a bit too hard to get it bang on right.

Mind you, I think that's Church's problem too. They over-think the shooting and don't just lash it away instinctively.

JOBI's shooting is dire

Remember how in 2010-11 Shane long couldn't hit a barn door?

57 shots on target gave him 23 goals = a goal every 2.5 shots on target Shane Long
47 shots on target gave him 04 goals = a goal every 12 shots on target Jobi McAnuff

As I say, remember Shae's figures include all those games up to QPR away when he couldn't score in open play.

(Excludes POs, no shooting data, but Shane got 2, Jobi 1)

haha so if he leaves the town then he is automatically signing for the team in the place he is in. Heard Ben hamer and matt mills went on holiday to Ibiza together, not far from valencia..... maybe?!

I've just spend a day in London very close to the Emirates stadium - does that mean I'll be signing for Arsenal next season?
