RUMOUR - Whelpdale and Payne

by LoyalRoyalFan » 11 Jan 2012 16:27

Reading scouts were at Gillingham v Stoke at the weekend to watch both Chris Whelpdale and Jack Payne who play for Gillingham.

Whelpdale is a winger and Payne is someone Reading have been watching for a while.

If we signed both I'd yelp with pain.

Has it taken you two days to come up with that?

Didn't Jack Payne score about 20 goals for Bristol Rovers in one match in the 1930s?

No mate Joe Payne scored 10 goals for Luton Town against Bristol Rovers. Still a league record. Jack Payne isn't up to much in my opinion.

Whepdale & Payne, sounds like a firm of dodgy estate agents to me.

Interesting we are playing a friendly with Gillingham today.

Could be we are looking at one or two of their players and want to see what they are like?

If so probably one or two of ours might will go there on loan.
