I don't know how to re-post the image but there is a great picture of Steve Bruce on here.

Maybe someone else can do it?

Readingfc We are delighted Brian has pledged his future to the club due to the backing of Anton Zingarevich.

Wolves Bruce/Poyet was always are first choice...

Fordham Brian told me he was talking to Wolves...

If you weren't semi-illiterate Z175 you might have got away with that bollox.

sandman If you don't like something and feel it's not right for you then you either don't sign it or you negotiate.

So you think he'd walk away if the club (a frugal Madejski at the time) said they weren't going to entertain offering the manager more than a 1 year rolling contract because if it was good enough for Coppell then it's good enough for the Chief Scout/Resrves Manager stepping up out of shaddows?

Why not? His stock had risen considerably since he first took over and he'd just taken his team to a Play Off Final. Plenty of negotiating space for him with us and others.

So if he has just signed a new 3 year contract, what's changed?

Isn't he happy with the 1 year deal he had anymore? Why didn't he use his ever so strong position to negotiate earlier?

You think this post is trying to claim to be genuine quotes... Wolves announcing their two managers as delete where applicable? I was attempting to be cynical about what happens next.

By the way, you can't be semi-illiterate. YOU could be semi-literate.

You can get much better odds at Betfair.. BMcD currently 13/2 with Steve Bruce 7/2.

Hoop Blah So if he has just signed a new 3 year contract, what's changed?

Isn't he happy with the 1 year deal he had anymore? Why didn't he use his ever so strong position to negotiate earlier?

It may have something to do with the new owners rather than the 'deal'.
Under Madejski there was a great element of trust and security. They understand each other and approach contracts the same way as Coppell i.e. is more of a technicallity than a reason to do the job.... if he keeps doing well, works within the clubs ethos and structure he has a job.
With the new owners he may not feel as secure, although they have expressed an interest in him staying, that could very quickly change (even if he does a good job) as has been demonstrated at other clubs and suddenly he has no job.

IMO he is using the interest in Wolves to 1, get him the salary he deserves and 2, get the backing of the new owners..... if they really want him to stay, giving him a new contract sends out a great message that you are the man we want to lead the club and gives him the security he maybe felt he didn't have.
