I really really don't want him. Has done next to nothing this season for Brighton, their fans don't seem to rate him too highly. I'd be shocked if Brian, with such an eye for a bargain, would spend £5M on a player like CMS. If we were to go up we should sign a proven Prem striker, like Roberts but a bit younger ideally.

Cant see this as a goer myself. Especially not at £5m. If we could pick him up on the cheap, £1m-£2m I don't think it would be such a bad signing.

so one paper says £5m for doyle, and the other £5m for cms. expect plenty of speculation now that there is investment behind us, but i would be very surprised if we offered anything like £3m for cms - if we are interested. he's done nothing to warrant the price brighton paid for him in the summer, so..

Doesn't seem to want to go away this rumour. Starting to maybe believe it now! That said i still think Brighton wouldn't want to sell him at a £1.5m profit after a season, they see him as a future star as well as a current one by the sounds of it from some of me B&HA supporting mates

IF we're in the Prem next season AND IF we have £5m to spend on a striker, i'd be very surprised if BMc went for CM-S. With that sort of money i think he'd try to re-sign Long.

One for the future then. Bench him for a bit then send him out on loan to Barnet, see how he does there and if well, have him back and stick him on the bench, before probably another loan out.

He might feed well off Roberts if we don't make it this season.

Certainly a better finisher than Hunt.

Forget CMS... one player I would love to see here from Brighton is Vicente!

Being based up in Nottingham, I watched him in the Forest-Brighton match on Saturday and he was a clear cut above the rest. I spent the match thinking he was just a crock who's finishing his career in England after 10+ years with Valencia (where he represented Spain 38 times, won 2 La Liga titles, as well as winning La Liga Spanish Player of the Year back in 2004), but looked him up when I got home and was amazed to find that he is still ONLY 30! HOW THE HELL DID BHA PICK HIM UP?!

If we were to go up, I would be overjoyed if we were to pick up a player of Vicente's quality, someone who would add a real touch of class to the team, and would probably cost less than £3m!

Sign him up please BMcD!

Personally I think Peterborough mugged Brighton for CMS in the summer so if he is now worth 5m then there reaslly is no sanity in football.

Unless of course it's just the pricetag Brighton have placed on him to disuade teams from bidding, coupled with a slow day on Fleet Street.

Er, Doyle had excellent link play, and also wolding the ball up. You young fans have short memories.

+2 his problem was scoring when he was out of form and not getting good service. He always worked hard and contributed.

Largely agree. I think his problem was that he was perceived to be a crock, particularly with the sort of attacking players Valencia have had recently. Anybody would look bad alongside the likes of Villa, Silva, Mata, Soldado and Banega...
