John Madejski's Wallet He's a Coppell, lets face it.

One of the reasons that Jason Roberts said he came to Reading was the Brian was a 442-man and wouldn't change. (Roberts himself says he's useless/wasted in a front 1 (or 3)

I don't have a problem with it, i'm happy for a manager to have a preferred system and find the players to fit. Rather than find the players and showhorn the rest of the team, and its tactics, around them

Don't really understand this - McDermott was pretty happy playing 4231 when we had Gylfi in the team, can't imagine he'd be afraid of reverting to this...

Fine. if you want to then remove the effectiveness of Roberts etc. and basically remove the good work that got us promotion.

I love Gyfli, I just really don't think we should be planning to rebuild our team and formation around 1 player

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Long come back - him and Roberts up front with ALF as impact sub and Hunt as cover would be superb imo. He said he went to WBA because of Roy Hodgson - now it looks like Roy is going and on the day that news is broken, Shane is in Reading having breakfast with AZ, McD and SJM....yes I know he may have been there to get his championship medal - but even so.....plus, as someone said, he didn't want to leave us in the first place AND doesn't he still live in Reading?.....

I think he deserved one more than Cywka or Connolly or Afobe to be honest!! I dunno. Maybe he didn't get a medal - still think it's telling he had breakfast with the top guns.

Luckily we're still under the radar or we'd probably be fined for tapping-up.

Shane often pops back to watch us and visit the guys at training. He's got a very close relationship with the people at the football club, and Brian especially; so I really wouldn't read anything into this.

^ this.
And for those of you that are saying bring Sig back, mirror reported yesterday that fergies brother (chief scout) has been watching swansea a lot lately, and Alex was there Saturday. I know they are playing swansea next week, but that's a lot of scouting. Still the paper continued that if united made a bid, hoffenheim would raise there asking price.

Gylfi >>> Roberts. And you're suggesting exactly that by restricting who we can sign to ensure we can get the best out of Roberts... when wo upfront is likely to put us in trouble in the Prem, unless we get it absolutely spot on.

How does Long deserve a medal more than Afobe who played in more games than him? How does Long deserve a medal more than Connolly who started about 6 times as many games as Long? Cywka, maybe... but Long left, he wasn't part of the team when it won. Cywka was.

I was surprised that Murty wasn't on the podium picking one up along with Parkinson.

Graeme Traitorelli Murty? He's Southampton through and through now - forgotten where Reading is.

I'll tell you why - because his contributions in the short time he was playing this season was far better than Afobe, Connolly and Cywka put together. IMO.

All he did was hit the bar

At least Afobe set up the 3rd goal at Southampton

Was he playing centre-back for the Saints?

No doubt wearing a false moustache, dark glasses and a trench coat, taking notes to pass on to his handler, Adkins.

He played one game, which we drew thanks to Manset and didn't score. Connolly played in 5 wins on the trot. Just because you fancy him doesn't mean he should get a medal... he did oxf*rd all this season.
