I wouldn't take the fact that he played at a club who paid him high wages they couldn't afford as a sign he'd come here.

England international moving to a recently promoted team? Giant wages? Come off it, i think the "we're promoted and therefore invincible and all important" vibe is getting a bit carried away here. By all means drag this up if by some bizzare admin error we actually do sign him, but i think we need a bit of a reality check here.
Adebeyor on season long loan. Saha only contracted till end of season... Defoe is the only Spurs striker left, other than Harry Kane and the other youngsters. There is no way this one will happen.

Presumably Tottenham aren't going to sign anyone over the summer ?
Not to replace Defoe they wont, and this is Daniel Levy your talking about dealing with. Every Tottenham player is massively overpriced, if he was to leave, you'd be looking at £10m+ minimum, and he is almost certainly on at least £50k a week wages. It's not going to happen.

I would love this to happen , but his wages will be too high and they'd probably want a decent fee too. So sadly I can't see it happening.

Have read that BM is looking to sign maybe 3, possibly 4 players to blend in with what we already have. Anyone who thinks 5 or 6 players coming in at the cost of millions is somewhat wide of the mark to say the least !l
