RUMOUR - Denis Cheryshev

by robinsfriday » 28 Sep 2012 11:13

Apparently scouting this lad. Straight from Anton.

Meanwhile on the playing front, Zingarevich also indicated he may be bringing another Russian to the Madejski, in addition to striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, in the shape of Real Madrid Castilla midfielder Denis Cheryshev."Our scouts watched Cheryshev in Castilla's match against Barcelona B," Zingarevich confirmed. "Denis played 20 minutes. I can't guarantee that he will come to Reading, but it's possible, and Denis himself knows this."

Seems interesting, wouldn't say no to a young talented russian,
however this doesn't seem like something AZ would say.... In the BBC interview he was a bit nervous and, rightly so, a bit quiet about certain things...
now he's come out to say we want this guy, the value of the club, in a very bold way. Must be ITV changing the tone a bit.

What would that be, free transfer, loan, what? I assume it won't be a free transfer so it'll be in January if it happens?

All I gathered from a google search was that he's a 21-year-old left footed winger who looks like he can use both feet well.. :?

What we need is a top central midfielder.

"In the off-season we were negotiating with players at the level of England internationals," Zingarevich said. "People like the club."

That'll be Defoe then. Shame he didn't come.

Or maybe he just means Shorey :?

He plays on the left, he plays center mid, Cheryshev has played for Madrid.

Looks very two footed and skillful, would love to pull off this transfer but will probably only be a loan.
Maybe we should start Russianing the squad out, Arshavin next please Anton.

Surely Castilla are in Segunda, Spanish second division, and Barcelona B are their (mainly) under 18's? I recall reading that Barca won 3-0. So is he actually up to much?

I've been going to castilla for the last couple of years and Denis is good but not obviously better than what we've got. Castilla play 4-3-3 and he always plays on wide on the left. Generally he is more often than not a substitute, although sometimes he's a bit unlucky to be sub as his form often warrants a place. He's okay on the ball and quite pacey, not really got a trick to beat a man but what he is really good at is getting on the end of crosses and moves to finish - sort of a poor man's Pedro at Barca.

Can't see as we need another winger, unless they are thinking he can play the Glyfi role in the centre. As i say he can finish and is good at arriving in the right place at the right time, so in a 5 man midfield it's a possibility but i've never seen him play in that position so can't comment on how he'd do.

"Zingarevich also revealed two Russian teenagers were on trial at the club - 17-year-old forward Sergey Kundik and Nikita Khaykin, who came through Chelsea’s academy. Neither would require a work permit."

Cheers, good info. How do you end up going to Castilla? Just for inexpensive decent-quality football, or some connection? I've always wondered if it's common to follow Getafe if not interested in the big two. Never considered the other options.

I went for Sportradar who provide the live information for online betting companies. Getafe has a miserable and souless stadium that makes the atmosphere in the madejski seem like a visit to Galatasaray. Rayo Vallecano is by far the best option in Madrid for decent fans and atmos.

Hope they can get something sorted out, would love to be able to chant "Kundik" and "Khaykin"
