Am I right in thinking he's the guy who scored in front of the Kop for Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup?

I've seen him play a couple of times this season. Stands out for Oxford for they have a problem in that their build up play can be very ponderous and slow and he at least possesses a modicum of skill. Too much of a leap for him really but I could see him doing well at League 1 level. A different player from Alf as he tends to pick the ball up deep and is not a smuch of a finisher.

This piece gives him a mention as well as Jake Forster-Caskey - a player we may at one point expect to be putting on a Reading shirt (if and when we are relegated again)

No chance.

Alfie Potter = Michael Gilkes circa 1985

Great pace, (on his day) can beat a man with ease...... but terrible, terrible final ball / finishing / decision making.

If it were not for these things he'd have been playing at a higher level - but he's 23 already. I'd imagine we have a number of U21's that show a lot more promise / are already better.

Agree with that - he's very fast and pretty skillful but his final ball/finishing is dreadful ... but that's not stopped Jimmy from playing the Prem has it? What makes Alfie even worse is that he's pretty small and slight and gets pushed off the ball too easily.

Potter isn't fit to lace Jimmy's boots!
