For someone who has sat through that you've looked like a reet glory boy knob this season.

Unless you've made it up which is more than likely.

If you're old enough to have seen us in the fourth tier (I'm not, though I would keep supporting the club if we were somehow relegated that far), then your immaturity and total lack of perspective are great puzzles.

Royalz96 Cristian Benitiez
Charlie Austin
Fox or another LB
Jordi Gomez

Benitez is a good player and has an astonishing goal scoring record. But I don't think he'd be right for us and might struggle to get a work permit

he has played in england before tho so cant imagine a work permit being a problem probably more wages

I know its not exactly reliable but a lot of people on football-rumours saying we will be signing Jacob Mellis from Bristol City.

Also a few mentions of Doyle returning.

Have it on very good authority that Doyle is off to Leeds, whether Wolves go down or not.

Trying to look at from my perspective the squad that we have and possible changes for next season I can see us having a squad made up from players we currently have like:

Goalkeepers: Alex McCarthy*, Dan Lincoln
Defenders: Chris Gunter, Adrian Mariappa, Sean Morrison, Stephen Kelly, Shaun Cummings, Michael Hector
Midfielders: Jobi McAnuff, Garath McCleary, Hal Robson-Kanu, Danny Guthrie, Hope Akpan, Daniel Carriço, Jordan Obita
Strikers: Adam Le Fondre, Jason Roberts, Nick Blackman, Dominic Samuel

Which would mean us offloading:

Goalkeepers: Adam Federici*, Stuart Taylor^, Mikkel Andersen,
Defenders: Nicky Shorey^, Ian Harte, Kaspars Gorkss, Alex Pearce, Angus MacDonald, Joseph Mills
Midfielders: Jem Karacan^, Mikele Leigertwood, Jimmy Kebe, Jake Taylor, Charlie Lossaso, Jay Tabb, Lawson D’Ath
Strikers: Pavel Pogrebnyak^, Noel Hunt^, Simon Church, Nicholas Bignall, Brett Williams, Karl Sheppard

*either/or – hopefully this way round [I can’t see us keeping both Feds and McCarthy, Andersen wants out. Perhaps Taylor will stay a year?].
^ could stay…

and with youngsters in the youth teams that can continue to progress including

Goalkeepers: Jonathan Henly,
Defenders: Nick Arnold, Josh Webb, Matt Partridge, Pierce Sweeney, Niall Keown, Dominic Hyam, Jake Cooper,
Midfielders: Ryan Edwards, Aaron Kuhl, Aaron Tshibola
Strikers: Gozie Ugwu, Uche Ikpeazu, Craig Tanner, Tariqe Fosu-Henry

etc etc etc [no doubt some will chose to leave over the close season.. but with so many of the first team potentially off we might keep more than recent seasons]

If that’s how things looked next year we’d probably need at the very most

Goalkeeper x1,
Left back x1,
Centre back x1 or 2,
Central midfielder x1
Central attacking midfielder x1
Striker x1 [or not at all if we could keep Pog or Hunt]

Less if any youth team players are ready to step up, or more if Adkins feels are there are other gaps or players that do not suit his style there.

Not really going to speculate on incomings. Although if Gorkss did go to Wolves I hope we’d try to prise Danny Batth away from them!

That would give us a young core that could progress. We would be somewhat short on experience though.

Perhaps Karacan can play himself into contention. Looks like the lad we had in the youth team is returning. Him, Gunter, Akpan, Jobi and Carriço should be plenty for the Championship?

Agreed. McAnuff is very good playing off the front man.

Many of you will probably disagree, but I really wouldn't be disappointed if we only made 1 or 2 signings.

Obviously this is permitting on whether we can keep most of the current bunch e.g Carrico, Guthrie, Mapps..
The only position I would say is a we definitely need to buy a quality player is a striker. With these players and a whole pre-season to work together I think we would have an excellent chance next season.

BTW, not saying I wouldn't like Anton to splash the cash, just don't think it would be a disaster if he doesn't.

im curious if guthrie would be willing to stay now that BM is gone? i havent heard him release any statements of intent to leave or stay, id love to have him as he would be incredible in the championship and he is a class premier league player as well. id say if we are able to keep: mccarthy, kelly, morrison, mariappa, gunter, karacan, akpan, guthrie, kebe, mccleary, HRK, caricco, alfie, blackman and one of pog, hunt, or church (hopefully pog) we would have a very very solid championship club.

if we can keep most of them and incorporate some youngsters who may be ready (obita, samuels, taylor, d'ath etc) then id say we would only need to sign: 1 cb, 1 lb, 1 Am, 1 Cm, and 1 striker who is capable of scoring goals in the premiership. (we would need 2 in the case that we lose pog).

Yeah, I meant Guthrie, no idea what was going on there. Gunter looks like he will make that RB position his too...

Why is Dan Lincoln (going on 18) a senior player but Jon Henly (going on 19) a youth player?

Josh Webb, Craig Tanner and Tariqe Fosu are midfielders.

I think Hunt is more likely to stay than Roberts, and I hope Karacan, Leigertwood and Kebe all stay.

Roberts activated an additional year in his contract just before he was told his hip injury was career threatening. He's here for one more season.

Sign a left back under the age of 30 and I'll be happy.

Honestly don't think we'd need many signings even if the likes of Pog, Robson-Kanu, Hunt, Shorey, Harte, Pearce all leave

I'd say we'd need a LB, CB, and perhaps a CAM

I'd try and sign Jonathan Parr, Alan Tate and perhaps Thomas Eisfeld on loan.

That should easily put us in good stead for a promotion push next season
