Not jimmy! Im really undecided on this as hes great when he plays got the pace, can beat players and he can shoot but he is 29 and with his injurts occurring a bit more and for a long period. I'd or probably accept 5m+ we dont need to sell and for that money we could really replace him with someone good and a lot younger

Jimmy hasn't been shy in letting his feelings be known about McDermott's departure (apparently). I was told by someone at the club that, not long after Adkins appointment, he said he'd never play for Reading again. :(

Good luck to him. Hope we get a good price for him.

That exactly mirrors what I've heard and been saying here [as picked up by SPARTA].

Given his age, length of contract and desire to play in the PL, I think it might be time to let him move on. We have no need to sell, so we can be bullish in any transfer negotiations, get a good price for him and use the money to strengthen further.

I'd love him to stay, but I think it might suit all parties to let him go.

To West Ham?

Yeah, that's the obvious destination

Would love him to go to West Ham to hear all the Essex Phil Mitchell look a likes that were frothing at the mouth after sock gate, backtracking and worshipping at the feet of the great man.

I still believe that if the Kebster had pulled his socks up playing for West Ham they would be waxing lyrical about how brilliant it was and lamenting how there are no more characters in the ame anymore, apart from the great man.

Probably best to sell him, his injury proneness this season was really starting to piss me off. It makes much better sense to give HRK a long-term, first-team spot on the wing anyway.

I thought he had 2 years left on his contract. I believe he really thinks well of Adkins also. Absolute rubbish to say he didn't want to play for reading when mac went.under Adkins he will be able to play as an out and out attacker instead of trying to get him to become a second defender. Must try and keep him at all costs but I suspect it will be down to what he can earn in premiership compared to what reading will offer bearing in mind relegation clauses

Kind of hope this is true, he's a great character and it'd be great to know he's so loyal, that he does actually care despite people slating him for being 'disinterested'.

I should have mentioned this in my earlier post. There is no problem between Adkins and Kebe.

paddy20 Absolute rubbish to say he didn't want to play for reading when mac went.

Do you happen to know this for certain? Only going on what i have been told. I've no desire to try and be one of the ITK crowd - would love to reveal the identity of the person that told me.

Hope it isn't true - would love to see Jimmy here next season.

I believe that if we,d had Kebe and Roberts fit for the season then the outcome of our season would have been a lot better.Having said that, I,m looking forward to a much more entertaining season in the championship.......proper football!. just my opinion folks :|

West Ham are obviously seduced by the way he adjusts his hosiery whilst in play. He could probably blow bubbles too as he races down the wing. There's no end to his talents apart from staying fit.

Wouldn't mind to be honest.

Still have HRK and McCleary (who should both be first choice next year IMO), with McAnuff and possibly Obita too.

He's injury prone and 90% of the time is utter crap. The magical 10% is nice, but we can do without.

Kebe should definitely stay imo, despite his injuries he's the best winger we've got

Not sure we can rely on Kanu as he is very inconsistent. Mcleary and Kebe with jimmy playing on the left is the best option I think. Kanu is better as an impact sub when defenders are getting tired. When he starts he rarely impresses and seem to tire before half time.

£2m plus should be entertained

Mcleary needs to be starting week in week out

As much as Kebe can sometimes be an absolute joy to watch and do some god like things, he is injured so often that we can't really rely on him, better having HRK + McCleary starting regularly imo, would hate for the relationship to end sour though so if this refusal to play due to McDermotts sacking is true then that really sucks.

Why is everyone complaining that we don't spend enough only to say that we should sell him for £2m?

1 year of having the best winger in the Championship > £2m + wages

If he goes on a free next year, i'd still say it's worth the cost. Jimmy's the type of player who can create something from nothing, and in a tough league next year 2 or 3 stolen points could be the difference between playoff hopes and relegation worries.
