Agreed!

I was just about to say I had a feeling we could be about to sign someone as the club's PR dept have published another chat with AZ about transfer policies.

Drenthe would surely shit on the Championship, no?

Funnily enough, I did wonder if we'd been looking at him when I read he'd signed for Villa.

Two signings apparently imminent. It's nice that a lot of single threads are about players who are interesting - Hooper, Bridcutt, Benayoun, Drenthe etc. I would still like a few younger players with potential to come into view. Still, it;s looking interesting.

If one of the signings is Billy Sharp I'd have to question Adkins I'm afraid - as I don't see that Sharp would offer anything more than Noel Hunt has for us. Gutted Hunt has left tbh - If Adkins is looking to have a team in the Championship that will effectively be the following season's premier league team, then I'm not sure Sharp is our man.

His goalscoring record is literally twice as good as Noel Hunt's.

Sharp has 0 Premier League goals. But he has only played 20 minutes, so I think we can let him off.

Sharp down as 2 appearances for Southampton when they were in the Prem with one goal (I assume in the cup?)

Noel Hunt has 6 goals for Reading while they were in the Prem in 24 appearances (Again I assume that sme were in the cup!)

I'd have thought Sharp was more like ALF and do we need two ALF's? :| So we'd have Pog, ALF and Sharp? Not exactly inspiring is it?

I'd say Pog, ALF, and Sharp would be the best strikeforce in the league next season by quite a margin tbh

LightwaterRoyal Sharp has 1 Premiership goal, Noel has 6.

lol, pretty hard to score in the PL when you're on loan at a Championship club.

In his last 4 seasons at Champ level Sharp has scored 50 goals in 112 games.

Hunt scored 31 from 121.
