Got told by a reliable source about half an hour ago that we have activated a non-promotion relase clause for Jordan Rhodes no details on how much it is though

Was a Tweet a short while ago that HT fans believed he had handed in a transfer request with CPFC interested. £6.5M was the figure quoted. Can't remember who it was that went off the deep end last summer about him being worth £Ms in a few years. Guess that figure they quoted could be in installments as he transfers between clubs?

He is currently reported to be on £45k a week wages. you really think he would be looking to move to another club in the same division on less wages?

SHENANIGANS. Seems strange that a non-promotion release clause can be activ8d by a team in the same division.

More than likely his agent was wise enough to insert a 'Fred Karno's Army' clause. Bet the moment he landed at that club he thought 'what have i got myself into?' and then it just got worse.

Really? Thats an extraordinary amount for an unproven Championship player (at the time he signed he was unproven).

Would love to have him here but if he's on those wages then forget it.

Why would he leave a Championship club, to come to another Championship club, even if it is that train wreck of a club?

And if he is on 45K, more fool Blackburn for paying that.

Quite possible... He did score over 20 goals last year though. Normally that is the barometer.

I really do'nt get all of the anti-Rhodes stuff. We should have bought him rather than Blackburn but that is past. He is now in an imploding shambolic wreck of a club and would probably love to join Reading in the absence of Premiership bids. Question, if he scored 25 goals for us next season (likely), in a team that is promoted, what price do you put on that given the huge new TV deal in the Premiership. Anton may think that his price and wages are worth the gamble.

The transfer fee it would take to get him is standard rate but he doesn't deserve 45k a week, probably not even in the prem.

It's the papers that said he was on 45k, I haven't seen the club confirm it so it's almost certainly paper talk, as was the 65k Pog was apparently on...

Of course the club haven't confirmed it. Data protection laws prevent that without the employee's agreement. Your bOSS can't just tell everyone what you're paid.

Actually to be pedantic, in some cases they have to. Although that doesn't apply for footballers.
