charlie farley Does the deafening silence (ref signings of a new striker) indicate that RFC are still unable to attract the people we are going after?

Just out of interest then, what was our best transfer window? And I mean without hindsight of how good those players became, I mean in terms of proven quality coming in through the door. In that sense then this is already the best transfer window for us, and with time to add a couple more as well.

charlie farley Does the deafening silence (ref signings of a new striker) indicate that RFC are still unable to attract the people we are going after? And if so, why is this, after all the lessons we are supposed to have learnt?

One8Seven1 Ex-Reading youth team striker Charlie Austin, 23, is another potential target following earlier links in January while 29-year-old free agent Nicky Bailey is also on the radar having left Middlesbrough.
In addition, sources say Southampton strikers Billy Sharp and Ricky Lambert as well as Fulham's ex-Royals midfield enforcer Steve Sidwell are attracting Reading's interest.
Sources they say! Those 'sources' were ITK kids accounts on Twitter and the rumours first originated on that football-rumours website. I'm not surprised by the Chronicle's failings in the sports department, but this is totally unacceptable journalism.
