Think we can say that, that is that.

Kept everyone.

That'll do.

With qpr signing at least 3 maybe 4 strikers we could possibly get bobby Zamora on loan? Linked to reading in the past, decent back up and still good for a goal?

The club have done well here. Leaked the fact that there's interest in the likes of ALF and GMc so the fans are relieved to when the window shuts rather than moaning about the lack of incoming activity. Fair play.

I think they've done very well. We have some in demand players at the club & I'm especially pleased McCarthy hasn't gone.

"Charles Watts‏@charles_watts13m
Not saying it's been a good window. Clearly it hasn't. But things could have got far worse today #ReadingFC

Charles Watts‏@charles_watts14m
Easy for people to judge but given what's going on at the moment, it could have been easy for #ReadingFC to sell today. They stood firm".

I am not sure I entirely agree with CW's sentiment. One assumes that JM is now back in charge and making the decisions and I cannot see how it would be beneficial to him to sell players whilst the ownership issue is up in the air. AZ might even try to claim such inward transfer fees.

If I was JM I would do exactly as he has done - i.e. buy no one and sell no one. Then if by some miracle we do go up and new owners have not been found by then, he should have a very saleable asset in the summer. If there are no new owners and we don't go up - then sadly a lot of the current squad will inevitably be sold off in the summer.

Chin up Andrew. We probably have the best front 2 in the division & the midfield is starting to tick now. We've kept hold of our GK as well. I'm not that unhappy TBH.

I also think Adkins knows he can trust the current board as well. They've assured him they won't sell players & they haven't.

I'd be more worried when the likes of Madejski, Howe & Hammond aren't around which might not be too far away....

There's a real togetherness developing around the squad now as well which will have been boosted by today's events.

We have a big squad with a large wage bill, until we get rid of the dead wood we really can't afford to bring players in without losing some of our better players. We've done well to hold on to what we have considering the ownership situation.

We had a great chance to be promotion candidates next season. 1st chance lost. Knowing RFC, the Summer will be yet another shambles. Someone prove me wrong - for God's'sake!

Hi ya SiegesGoat,

Leaf me alone, ok! I not Dave-Royal, Susan-Boyle or Ian-Royal.

Club trying to claim this transfer window was a wild success for the club as we didn't sell anyone....is there no end to the spin. Nigel Howe even stated in the interview that despite a lot of interest we resisted...because the other clubs didn't offer enough cash. So we would have sold had the offers been better. We stand still as others move forward.

£5million + Parachute payments in. £900k on Danny Williams out. Sorry RFC, simply not good enough and you have failed to manage the expectations of the fans yet again.

Im with Big Ern on this. I personally dont care what league we are in, i've had a seaon ticket from Elm Park Division 2 days, but seemingly thousands do.
The Club and JM in particular are the ones that continually raise expectations with their big talk especially just before season ticket renewal time. Fans hear the same old bullshit about ambition, club on the up, funds available blah blah blah but how many transfer windows have come and gone and brought only dissapointment ?!

Yes we have come a long way since Elm Park but lets not kid ourselves we are no where near a Premiership Club.
We are barely a big championship club, i see the likes of Forest, Leics, wigan, qpr obviously as top championship clubs because they do actually spend money, yes sometimes silly money, but they put money where their mouths are.

Not losing players does not contribute a successful transfer window!
If the squad is not improved then how can it be??

We may have staved off the buyers this time round but if there is no take over by the end of summer then it will be a different story.
