Rumour - Connor Washington

Daily Mail are reporting that we're lining up a £3m bid. 10 goals in 20 starts (24 apps) in the league this season according to Sky Sports.

Perfect number 9 to play with Vydra (never seen him play btw!)

Yes please! Though I agree I think we could get Dack for £2m and he'd suit the 4-3-3 that we want to play.

Washington is a long term replacement for Vydra.

Posh fans saying he's generally been shit for them other than a purple patch this season. Sound familiar?

Usual bitter fans trying to make it seem like losing their key player is not a big deal.

So yes, we've been there many times....

McDermott prefers a 4-4-2 tho.

TheBaldOne Rather Bradley Dack

He's a completely different player to Washington though...

Bit confused about where people think Dack would play. He might play off a striker in a 4-4-1-1 formation, but he isn't going to play
anywhere other than midfield in any other formation.

We're doing well according to all these rumours, it's about the third different £3m bid Reading have supposedly made this month...

Methinks there's some porkies doing the rounds currently :o

Just for the record his LEAGUE goalscoring record on wiki states

Years Team Apps (Gls)
2010–2012 St Ives Town 60 (64)
2012–2014 Newport County 39 (5)
2014– Peterborough United 81 (27)

looking at the longer term this signing would make sense. It would mean we could leave Samuel on loan for the rest of the season to get experience whilst Washington beds into the squad. After all next season we most likely lose all or most of Vydra, Cox, HRK. Piazon and John and so we will need replacements.

Just maybe next season could see a Samuel/Washington partnership up front.

Unless we think this guy is REALLY amazing - i.e. a future Prem striker - I just can't see the point. Would make more sense to bring Samuel back from loan, but I guess I'm not the first to say or think this. Also what I find underwhelming is that he looks like a similar type of striker as Vydra - i.e. small ...

I dont know if he is up to the required standard, but he has all the attributes we are crying out for. Powerful, quick center forward. I hope we go back to this route of poaching the best talent from lower down the leagues.

'leaked media reports' suggests some factz that got out, rather than just made up shizzle. though he could be talking about anything and anyone when saying that.

ultimately what I am saying it 'I dunno lol'

We should bite your hands off for £3m!

Washington has definitely found scoring easier since Westley arrived. Is that coaching or is he going through a purple patch? Who knows.
He works hard and misses more than he scores so I'm inclined to think it's the latter.
