Good news on the contract. Don't think we would get anyone as good for without spending big, it secures down RB for another two years and we can concentrate on finding an understudy rather than someone who would need to hit the ground running.

Well at the very least it ensures we can make the most of it if he has a good Euros.

Stuck with him for another two years then. Hopefully we can get someone in during the summer to at least challenge him for a starting spot and hopefully overtake him like the opposition do every game.

Correct.

In a way it's a shame that Cardiff aren't 'doing a Derby' and throwing money at a promotion push or Hammond could work his magic for Gunter to return to the motherland.

If recent months have been Gunter "playing for a new contract" then we should be in for a treat for the next year or so. :|

Had a great game yesterday like he does most Saturday's. One of the most trusted and talents right backs in the division.

Real key component in what's becoming a decent back line....
