If we want him, I trust Stam has done his homework and believes he'll get the best out of him.

Don't see the point of the negativity, it could be an incredible signing, roll with it - if it's works out great. We might not even get him anyway.

I've always thought Gyan was an incredible player although his goal ratios aren't as special as I expected, I guess that's what one big world cup can do for your reputation.

Anyway, Gyan for Reading? YES PLEASE!

Will we ever learn? Over the hill is over the hill. Doesn't matter who they are. We've always had more success getting them on the way up, rather than on the way down.

My favourite player from the 2010 World Cup and would be an astonishing signing. Let us hope it does not end in tears.

This makes me uneasy. A big name, with a good record admittedly, who has chased the cash rather than competitive football. We certainly have need of a good striker, I have serious doubts about whether Gyan would have the right attitude and application left. It strikes me as a deal more like Pogrebnyak, Drenthe, Yakubu and John. Glamour signing chasing reputation.

Could be fantastic, but I won't be holding my breath.

Roberts was very much a key figure in our last promotion to the Premier League.

I agree, he was good in that half season. However...after that?

He got injured, it happens can't really blame him for that, you just lumped him in with a group of players who did oxf*rd all here.

I don't never not remember seeing him play or nuffink, but if he does sign fingers crossed he will put the ball in the old onion sack.

I see the press are saying Fulham were also interested, but couldn't afford his wages. Which makes it an exact parallel with Pog, in that Fulham couldn't afford him at the time either.

Anyone getting a feeling of deja vu here?

Thanks for that. I guess we'll find out Gyans destination tomorrow.
