Probably up there in the top 3 players this season, he's come on leaps and bounds but I think that says more about us as a team than his ability that he's been one of our better players because he is still a liability at times

Certainly rather him than Ilori and McShane, and he's a useful player in the sense that he's versatile. Part of me thinks he would suit Gomes's style because he's composed on the ball but he's too casual at times and this often leads to mistakes. No loss either way to be honest, but he's certainly not one of the first ones I'd be looking to shift

Agreed. He's a natural CB anyway and that's where he's played throughout most of his youth career. Playing him as a LB only started when he went out on loan and the manager did the typical if you have a left foot you can play on the left.

Still. I do think we have better and will have CB's (Osho and McIntyre).

Hes being playing in a team that have generally been bad..does not mean, as others have said, that hes not a player who has potential...you dont play for Manchester Utd, if you dont have something there .....would be a loss to club if he was sold imho..

He has been playing in an unsettled team and shifted from CB to LB to the bench every week. Like most players getting a consistent level of performances requires being played in 1 position consistently.
Unless we have a genuine 1st team replacement for CB or LB lined up, keeping Blackett is a must.
