I’m starting to think that Walcott can’t be happening as I thought he’d have signed already. I hope he does as I still believe he’d be great in League One.

I hear there will be quite a number of signings early next week-they are certainly needed.

The Carroll signing dragged on for months last year so the quietness means nothing.

This. Biggest issue remains the dreadful lack of creativity.

Hope not really any of the trialists in the Sutton game are in that batch of signings

So despite some of them have fairly successful careers so far you are basing on 60m of a pre season friendly?

It would be a huge no to Gosling. He’s 33 and injury prone. I’d rather have Hendrick tbh but hoping for a young dynamic box to box central midfielder.

And have you had any more than a quick gander at him?

No. Do you have have more information about him? Would you be happy if we signed him?

Gosling… Gander. Whoosh

Not keen on all the smith talk. If he didn’t have the reading link would people still be interested? Think we could do better or someone with more potential and younger. Carrol, knibbs, big kelv, Clarke, azeez, potentially Walcott. He either blocks two younger lads or is just a squad filler with not a lot re sale value.

Knibbs isn’t a striker.

Smith is established at League One level, and has scored fifteen and thirteen goals in his past two seasons for Cambridge in the league - only missing a single game in that time; getting someone in who we know can score goals at this level would be a big boost. I'd also have Knibbs, Azeez and (potentially) Walcott as wide/deeper attacking players as opposed to an out and out striker - meaning our striking options would be Carroll, Ehib, Clarke and Smith should he sign.

30 goals over the last two years for a poor team in the same div as we are playing on a free. 25 years old. Of course we should be interested

Smith wasn't ready for Championship football when he was last with us but he's shown himself to be a decent League 1 striker which is exactly what we're looking for.

We'd be daft not to be interested

Smith has a better scoring record is an out and out striker and people would prefer Knibbs who is not a striker and doesn't score many

Rumours we want Joe Lumley back. He was ok for us but I'd be disappointed if he returns. I think there's potentially better options out there.

1) he can't get near a penalty
2) he isn't a brilliant shot stopper. Never made many great saves
3) error prone

Only good thing he is for us is he's good at time wasting and with no disrespect to league one we shouldn't need to be doing that on a regular basis.

People don't want Knibbs as a striker. Hth.

I’m expecting lots of announcements this week. Let’s hope Bowen and co have made some good decisions.
